Sinopsis

A forbidden romance, a fractured family, and one woman's journey to piece it all together

Hometown hero Ana Leigh Watkins ventures to Bitter End, Tennessee, to help her great-aunt prepare for retirement. A town called Bitter End seems an ironic place for Ana to refresh her weary spirit, but she's desperate for respite from the attention and unwarranted admiration of her community. While on a hike in Roan Mountain, a ragtag group of amateur bird-watchers takes her under their wing--a little against her will. However, she quickly warms to these genuine souls seeking solace in the great outdoors.

But when Ana's adventures in Bitter End lead her to a severed branch of her family tree--one that involves the forbidden love between a moonshiner's daughter and a preacher's son--what began as a getaway to help her great-aunt becomes a transformative journey that binds together two women who, though they live on the same street, have been estranged for sixty years.

An immersive faith-based novel of finding belonging, reconciliation, and new beginnings for fans of southern fiction. This narrative of friendship and community makes for a perfect book club selection.

When I requested a secure room at the Silver Spoon Falls Inn, I didn't realize it came with sassy commentary from the desk clerk. Nor did I think I'd enjoy the thought of spanking that attitude right out of her. But here we are anyway. Sight unseen, I'm already hooked on Francesca. And the moment I set eyes on this curvy little spitfire? I'm sunk. Now, I just have to convince her that a grump of a CIA agent like me is exactly what she needs. Forever.

Who requests a freaking secure room in Silver Spoon Falls? Ryker Montgomery, that's who. With a single phone call, he pushes all my buttons. So I push back. But oh boy! I did not expect him to show up looking like, well, him. He's hot, bossy, gruff, and a little bit filthy too. I am in so much trouble. So why aren't I running for the hills? Oh, right. Because I think I'm in love. Someone send help.

Sir Anthony Hope Hawkins was born on 9th February 1863 in Clapton, London.
He was educated at St John's School, Leatherhead, Marlborough College and Balliol College, Oxford. Hope trained as a lawyer and barrister and was called to the Bar by the Middle Temple in 1887. Despite what was thought to be a promising legal career he had literary ambitions and wrote in his spare time.
His early works appeared in various periodicals of the day but for his first book ‘A Man of Mark’ (1890), with no publisher interested, he published with his own resources.
More novels and short stories followed, including the mildly successful ‘Mr Witt's Widow’ in 1892. Hope even found time to run as the Liberal candidate for Wycombe in the election that same year but was unsuccessful.
His first major literary success came with ‘The Dolly Dialogues’, a collection of previously published magazine pieces followed very quickly by his instant classic, ‘The Prisoner of Zenda’. He now gave up the vestiges of his legal career to pursue writing full-time.
Despite never again reaching the same pinnacle of success he was popular and wrote prolifically across novels, plays and of course, short stories though his writing output rapidly diminished after the war.
In 1918 he was knighted for his contribution to propaganda efforts during World War I.
His short stories are delicate, mannered and often surprising with their wit, humour and interplay of characters who say one thing and usually mean another. He was very definitely a writer of escapist rather than serious fare but they are no less enjoyable for that.
Anthony Hope died of throat cancer on 8th July 1933 at his country home, Heath Farm at Walton-on-the-Hill in Surrey. He was 70.

When dark magic and deceit collide, the biggest threat also becomes the most ridiculous. Forget what you know about heroes: this one’s earless, accident-prone and remarkably ineffective.
In a world where cats and dogs act like people, absurdity reigns supreme.
With Sinson Rascalion threatening to plunge society into darkness, Oscar Teabag-Dooven is once again thrown into the fray. After stumbling upon the arrogant bard The Dodosette and the beautiful cat Vaasi-Vee, the unlikely trio argue their way across the world to do something about it.
With lots of begging, too much snow and a wake of shattered infrastructure increasingly synonymous with these books, they set off on a ludicrous journey into the politically absurd. They did not, however, anticipate having to fight invisible Rottweilers, smash kitchens to pieces, lick frozen cars or fund taxi drivers’ sister’s eye operations. But for Oscar Teabag-Dooven, such absurdity is becoming routine.
Welcome back to the New Fable fiction genre, where fluffy just got dangerous.
“These books quite possibly give credence to book burning.” - Jennifer Woodly, Local Barn Historian.
“They read like a phone book, but with less intrigue.” - Cavan Daahl, Royal Academy of Things in General.
“Not so much an ebook as an eeww-book.” - Demstra Yogon, BookReporter.com.
