Summary

Amanda ran from an abusive marriage in Saudi Arabia with her four sons and infant daughter, Aisha. She found sanctuary at Blossom House – in the loving embrace of a community of women who understood. But always at the back of her mind was the fear that Muhammed would come for his children.

Ash has grown-up feeling lost and out of place, left to her own devices by her damaged mother, abandoned to the lure of paint and canvas. She has few friends until she comes upon a group of Islamic women who promise empowerment and a mission in life – which has to be better than sacrificing herself to the twin goddesses of anorexia and social acceptance.

One woman's dream is the other's nightmare.

In 1994, Mab Segrest first explained how she “had become a woman haunted by the dead.” Against a backdrop of nine generations of her family’s history, Segrest explored her experiences in the 1980s as a white lesbian organizing against a virulent far-right movement in North Carolina. Memoir of a Race Traitor became a classic text of white antiracist practice. bell hooks called it a “courageous and daring [example of] the reality that political solidarity, forged in struggle, can exist across differences.” Adrienne Rich wrote that it was “a unique document and thoroughly fascinating.” Juxtaposing childhood memories with contemporary events, Segrest described her journey into the heart of her culture, finally veering from its trajectory of violence toward hope and renewal. Now, amid our current national crisis, driven by an increasingly apocalyptic white supremacist movement, Segrest returns with an updated edition of her classic book. With a new introduction and afterword that explores what has transpired with the far right since its publication, the book brings us into the age of Trump—and to what can and must be done.

    Arrowtown Book 5
Can be listened to as a standalone
Camden "Cam" Stone had a long past and a hard life. For the past ten years he'd kept up the façade of a businessman, running the only bar in Arrowtown. The hours were long, but the people were friendly and if he didn't share much about himself, no one seemed to care. But all that changed when a new baker came to town - a baker with a flippant personality and skills the whole town were soon talking about. Nobody could be that perfect, could they?
"Fabulous" Fergus Ferdinand was a bull shifter, and yes, his momma did have a sense of humor, once. Having been away from his fold for years, he'd come to the shifter town, in the hopes of building a business that would be good enough to convince his momma to come and live with him. From the moment he opened his bakery doors, people flocked to buy from him, eager for the new sweet sensations his business offered. So, it was understandable, when the gruff bar owner seemed immune to his sweet things and his sunny personality, that Fergus was a bit surprised.
Unfortunately, Cam's suspicious nature, and his subsequent investigation into Fergus creates a whole stack of problems for the unlikely pair. Throw in a pair of pink unicorn pants, a momma in desperate need of saving, and a wolf with an éclair addiction and the couple are kept busy twenty-four seven. Just when they get to the point where the two men can take a breath, Fergus gets sick... and a whole stack of new challenges crop up.
This is an MM Mpreg Fated Mates story. Although, it can be read as a standalone, reading the previous books will give you more understanding of the secondary characters. There is snarky humor, some violence, and a lot of sweet treats. As this book is intended for adults only, please store your entertainment responsibly.

Three compelling volumes of poetry from a feminist icon, poet, and author of the groundbreaking novel Mrs. Stevens Hears the Mermaids Singing.A Durable Fire: This collection borrows its title from Sir Walter Raleigh, who wrote, “Love is a durable fire / In the mind ever burning.” It is a fitting sentiment for a collection on solitude, wherein the author finds herself full of emotion even in seclusion. A Durable Fire is a transformative work by a masterful poet.  A Grain of Mustard Seed: In this beautiful collection, Sarton explores dark and destructive femininity. She writes of “Crude power that forges a balance / Between hate and love,” finding an amalgam of dark and light within a single act. These graceful and nuanced poems join timeless ideas and specific moments in history.  A Private Mythology: To celebrate her fiftieth birthday, Sarton embarked on a pilgrimage around the world. Traveling through Japan, India, and Greece, she captured her spiritual discoveries in this vivid collection of poetry. Arresting images and meditations on the differences between East and West are rendered in this “colorful, polished” winner of the Emily Clark Balch Prize (Kirkus Reviews).
