"At the Mountains of Madness" is a chilling tale of cosmic horror by H. P. Lovecraft, blending science fiction, adventure, and terror. The story follows an Antarctic expedition led by geologist William Dyer, whose academic curiosity turns into a harrowing descent into the unknown.
As the team uncovers ancient, non-human ruins buried beneath the icy wastelands, they unravel the secrets of a lost civilization whose influence predates humanity. What begins as a scientific journey becomes a desperate struggle for survival when they awaken forces beyond comprehension.
With vivid descriptions of the unforgiving Antarctic landscape and a mounting sense of dread, Lovecraft crafts a tale that explores the limits of human knowledge and the existential terror of encountering beings far older and more powerful than mankind. A cornerstone of weird fiction, "At the Mountains of Madness" continues to captivate readers with its haunting atmosphere and enduring sense of cosmic mystery.

"Wilde combines hardboiled noir and Jewish folklore in this action-packed, perfectly paced paranormal romp… This giddy, sexy series launch is a delight.” - Publishers Weekly (starred review)
Missing teens. Illegal magic. And the sexy nemesis who might drive her to murder.
Ashira Cohen built her detective agency from the ground up. Small, yes—but even Sherlock Holmes started somewhere. Then a routine stakeout goes sideways, leaving her with a concussion, a mysterious tattoo hidden under her hair, and the ability to see shadow creatures that kill people.
Shadow creatures no one else can see.
Worse? She accidentally summons a weapon made of her own blood. In front of Levi Montefiore.
He’s the arrogant, infuriatingly gorgeous head of the magical community. Her long-time nemesis. And he immediately throws her in a cell on suspicion of being a Rogue.
Turns out the tattoo was a magical ward suppressing dangerous blood magic she never knew she had. Magic that's not just rare—it's forbidden. One word from Levi and she loses everything: her agency, her freedom, her future.
Except Levi needs her. Teens are vanishing, and Ash is the only one who can track the creatures behind it.
She'll have to infiltrate a magical black market, outwit a cunning queen who trades in secrets, and navigate the thin line between investigating Levi's world and wanting to strangle him. Or kiss him. The jury's still out.
Smart is the new kickass, and Ash’ll prove she's both.
If you love Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels and Hidden Legacy series, The Jezebel Files delivers clever mysteries, razor-sharp banter, and a heroine who outwits as much as she outfights.

"In the world of the antiquary, the past doesn't just haunt—it hunts."

Step into a world of dusty cathedral libraries, forgotten manor houses, and remote country inns. In this debut collection, M. R. James presents eight tales of "antiquarian" horror—stories where scholarly curiosity leads to the accidental awakening of ancient, malevolent forces. From the "hairy, demonic entity" lurking in an old scrap-book to a terrifying engraving that changes every time you look at it, James masters the art of the slow-build. These are not stories of spirits seeking closure; they are accounts of predatory things from the dark corners of history that do not want to be disturbed.

Masterpieces of the Macabre: This collection features some of the most famous horror stories in the English language, including "The Mezzotint," a chilling tale of a haunted picture, and "Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad," where a simple bronze whistle summons a creature made of linen and shadows. James's genius lies in his ability to turn everyday objects—curtains, bedsheets, and old books—into instruments of absolute dread.

The Tactile Terror: James broke new ground by making his ghosts physical. Instead of transparent mists, his entities are described as having "hair," "leathery skin," or "long, thin arms." By making the supernatural something you could accidentally touch in the dark, he created a visceral fear that remains unparalleled in literature.

Why It Is a Classic: M. R. James was a renowned medievalist and Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University, and he brings that authentic scholarly weight to every page. His stories feel like secrets whispered by a professor over a glass of sherry, making the eventual intrusion of the monstrous feel disturbingly plausible.
