Synopsis

In "The Long Patrol," Albert M. Treynor skillfully weaves a narrative that explores the intricacies of human endurance and the dynamics of community in times of crisis. Stylistically, Treynor employs a vivid, lyrical prose that beautifully captures the raw emotions of his characters while grounding them in a meticulously crafted landscape. The book resonates within the context of mid-20th century literature, drawing parallels with existential themes presented in the works of contemporaries like Hemingway and Camus, reflecting on the struggles for meaning amid tumultuous societal change. Albert M. Treynor, a seasoned observer of social and psychological landscapes, brings his rich background in psychology and history to bear in this poignant work. His extensive travels and experiences during pivotal historical moments have profoundly informed his understanding of resilience and companionship, themes deeply embedded in "The Long Patrol." This informs his empathetic portrayal of characters facing their own long patrols through life'Äôs adversities, underscoring the universal quest for hope and camaraderie. For readers intrigued by character-driven tales that probe the depths of the human spirit, "The Long Patrol" is an essential addition to one'Äôs literary collection. Perfect for fans of C. J. Box and William Kent Krueger, a sleepy town is rocked to its core when a dead body is found in this debut novel.

In the quiet seaside town of Blaine, Washington, the most serious police work involves dealing with stray coyotes or ticketing speeders along the I-5. But on Ethan Brand's first day as the town's chief of police, he finds a threat on his porch, along with a gruesome souvenir, a bloody animal heart.

There are plenty of people who are upset about Ethan replacing the last Chief, but when a body shows up on the railroad tracks, Ethan has to turn his focus from the threats against him to the first homicide case the town has seen in years. Blaine's population is only five thousand, but eight million vehicles pass through its railroad crossing every year. It's the perfect site for drug smuggling, human trafficking, larceny, and murder.

Ethan begins to realize that the small town has many more secrets than its quiet surface suggests. With no one to trust, his job already on the line, and the threats getting bolder and more reckless, Ethan Brand must find the killers and bring them to justice before anyone else winds up dead.

YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES & JOHN WATSON
The case of the missing rocking horse. This completely new story I have written involves the 10 year old boys who will be the great detective Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, his assistant, when they grow up, this is their formative years where they perfect their skills before adulthood on what my appear to be inconsequential subjects, but the principle remains the same.
This is just one of an extensive series I will be publishing as audio books in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this first one, and its only $1.50 cents, all subsequent will remain at that price as I would not like price to be a barrier to your enjoyment.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, a violin Holme's musical instrument of choice and is energetic and the closing music ends the tale on a more restrained mode and only about 1 minute.
The story itself runs to about just over 6 minutes and is of course a short story, it is read in my own voice.
The story involves the the disappearance of a rocking horse belonging to the young son, Archibald Fortescue of a wealthy banker who lives in London, in Cavendish Square, about 1890 and Holmes uses his powers of deduction and observation to track down the heirloom to the chimney sweeps son who was borrowing it for his sickly sister to give her some joy. Needless to say Holmes solves the mystery with aplomb and goes onto his next case.
The stories are designed to be entertaining to children of approximately the same age around 10 years old due to the characters involved.
I do hope you and you children, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!
