Because I did it myself.” Tezla smiled merrily at him and waved…something…in his general direction. “I spit on your human technology. Do you think a mere electronic lock can defeat me?” “It’s not fair,” Ashley said. “She’s sexy and horny and she has a sentient ship’s computer that can talk to her. Why does she need a sonic screwdriver?” Tezla looked at Eve, her brow furrowed. “What is he talking about?” Eve smiled at her lover. “Ignore him. And help me get undressed. Or help him get undressed. Or take your own clothes off, you sexy alien skank. All I know is that I want to see a lot more skin and a lot less clothes in the White Hizz-ouse.” “One moment.” Tezla lifted her hands to her face. Tiny clicks sounded as she dropped a pair of objects onto a handy table. She breathed deep, the curves of her chest straining at her dress uniform. “Oh, yes. Gods, that’s good. I feel as if I’ve been breathing stale air for days.” “Sex addict,” Eve said sadly. “You hate to see it,” Ashley agreed as Tezla skinned out of her uniform. “God, I can see the headlines on Fox News now. ‘Aliens Seek to Corrupt America.’ Tell me, lovely lady,” he added as Tezla embraced his fiancée. “Are you a mole from behind the Iron Curtain, seeking to destroy the American way of life and subject us all to the godless ravages of Communism?” Tezla blinked at him. “As I understand it, no. In fact, on Diadem anyone who advocated communism as either an economic or a political theory would be shot dead on the spot. Instead we embrace a form of…hmmm. Your philosophers might call it Social Darwinism so extreme that even the most fervent defenders of capitalism on this planet might blanch at its ruthlessness. Clans wage calm, polite, deadly war against one another, always seeking to raise themselves to one to the fifty high houses. Or if that fails, to drag one of the high down.” “Like crabs in a pot,” Ashley muttered. But he did not resist as Tezla and Eve peeled off his clothes. Whatever anyone else might say, the climate conditioning in the White House was excellent. He sighed as blessedly cool air hit his overheated flesh. “Who first?” Eve asked. “He is your betrothed,” Tezla said, splendidly naked. “But I have had the pleasure of his company for lo these many days,” Eve teased. “And you have not.” She kissed the burgeoning swell of Tezla’s bare breast. “Will you insult my love by denying him?” “I’m not…” Ash started. “Yes you are,” Eve said. “Grievously insulted. In fact, you have been so insulted it will only take the submission of one of the Scouts to answer.” Ashley’s eyes darted back and forth. “Yeah. Right. Grievously insulted.” He pointed to the bed, lips twitching in suppressed laughter. “Prepare to pleasure me, alien wench.” Tezla scampered, eager to obey. Eve stared at her boyfriend. “You are terrible at this.”
