Summary

I'm creating this book because of the society I live in, which allows for the adjustment of anything. However, our culture was beautiful because of the presence of religious beliefs. However, those in positions of authority and wealthy families take advantage of that at the same time. By comparing one religion to another, people are taught to hate one another and to lead normal men in the wrong directions in society. When one religion hates another, that creates a hateful religion. I'm penning that book since every faith is admirable and rich in culture. And everyone treats one another with respect based on common decency rather than religion, we had that thought while having different families yet the same hearts.

The water remembers what history buried.

    Curses rise with the steam.

When Ellen, Sue, and Tanya travel to Hot Springs, Arkansas, to cleanse a seemingly mischievous Airbnb, they expect misplaced keys and flickering lights—not ancient voices rising from the natural springs.

But when Ellen begins hearing words in Cherokee—words she’s never learned yet somehow understands—the case takes a darker turn. The water speaks of a curse. Of treasure. Of something buried beneath the Ouachita Mountains long before the bathhouses, before the wax museums, before Al Capone’s tunnels carved through the earth.

As summer solstice approaches, the warnings intensify.

Visions. Possession-like episodes. Whispered prophecies in steam and spring water.

When the women descend into a flooded Prohibition-era tunnel beneath Josephine Tussaud’s Wax Museum, they uncover more than gangster lore. They stumble into a centuries-old mystery tied to Cherokee displacement, lost gold, and a legacy that may run through Ellen’s own bloodline.

But they aren’t the only ones searching.

A powerful Atlanta attorney arrives with his own agenda, and modern greed proves just as dangerous as ancient curses.

In this haunting installment of the Mystery House Series, history refuses to stay silent—and the water remembers everything.

The Baron Ritzner Von Jung was of a noble Hungarian family, every member of which (at least as far back into antiquity as any certain records extend) was more or less remarkable for talent of some description — the majority for that species of grotesquerie in conception of which Tieck, a scion of the house, has given some vivid, although by no means the most vivid exemplifications. My acquaintance with Ritzner commenced at the magnificent Chateau Jung, into which a train of droll adventures, not to be made public, threw me during the summer months of the year 18—. Here it was I obtained a place in his regard, and here, with somewhat more difficulty, a partial insight into his mental conformation.

She broke her own rules: you can’t fall in love when you’re on the run...
Sandover Island seems like the perfect place for Mercer to escape her past, but she knows it's only a matter of time until it finds her. She isn't safe, not even in Beau’s strong arms, as tempting as they are.
The harder Beau pushes at Mercer’s walls, the stronger they seem to be. She gives him an inch, then steps back a mile. He knows she's worth the fight, if only she will give him her trust.
Just as Mercer finally starts to give in, the truth of her past barrels into her present. The question isn’t whether their love will survive, but will Mercer…
Trigger warning: This book deals with the topic of past domestic abuse, with little graphic detail.
