Summary

This seaside town holds more secrets than you could ever imagine.

Grace and Dick Thomas are the proud owners of the Sandybank Guest House, a pristine establishment set in a prime location overlooking the beach. Tourists come and go all year round, enjoying the beautiful setting and their host's wonderful culinary skills.

However, the permanent residents of this pretty coastal town cause net curtains to flutter and tongues to wag with their myriad of secrets and tales to be told.

Caught up in their midst, the Thomases live their lives regardless, checking guests in and checking guests out. But who holds the biggest secret of all?

Stanley Featherstonehough Ukridge is willing to do anything to get a buck – except, of course, work. Bombastic and big-eared, Ukridge has a bottomless well of corking ideas that never seem to work out, yet he’s always willing to volunteer others to tackle the inconvenient bits. Whether he’s commandeering a dog college, managing a tender-hearted pugilist, or brushing the perpetual chips off his aunt’s shoulder, Ukridge’s spotty success record never gets him down.
Ukridge had a special place in Wodehouse’s heart, appearing in stories for 60 years, with the last published as late as 1966. Ukridge first appeared to American audiences in Love Among the Chickens (1906). While this collection is the second published (1924), the events take place before the dodgy poultry adventure.

"When I get old, I hope to have friends as awesome as these. This is an absolutely feel good novel. Naturally, our intrepid characters, wattles and all, undergo all sorts of trials, but it's the compassion and generosity they exhibit that endears the reader." -- Sam Sanders, via NetGalleyZany families, eccentric friends, and ne-er-do-well neighbors inhabit the labyrinthine lives of three women friends as they grapple with real world events in one "Golden Year."An unwelcome visit from local law enforcement, a younger friend's romantic chaos, and the death of a parent combine with daily mundanities---laundry, scones, and senior sex---to create a walloping, raucous read.Opinionated pets---critics and alter egos---offer a rich counterpoint to the human dramas affecting their lives.Unfiltered and compelling, this entertaining sago provides readers of all ages with a new and positive view of growing older.

I stupidly agree to allow a handsome hockey player to rent a room upstairs. Am I crazy? Maybe. Desperately broke? Most definitely.

So imagine my shock to discover he's the cute hockey guy I kissed at my best friend's wedding last year.

He still calls me princess and is unfairly gorgeous. And now I have to see him. Every. Single. Day.

I'm trying not to trip over my own feelings—for the sake of this team and my job as the team's community relations manager.

No matter how Brax looks at me or how real things start to feel, I know this is a temporary arrangement. He's too talented to stay on this team.

And the roommate situation is too hard on my heart, no matter how good I am at pretending there aren’t sparks flying between us.

But when my feelings for Brax heat up, I wonder how this game between us is going to end. With me winning over the man I can't stop thinking about? Or losing everything, including my heart?

A daring, hilariously neurotic literary debut from the acclaimed actor and comedian Brett Gelman (Stranger Things, Fleabag).
Enter the wonderfully weird, always uncomfortable, side-splittingly funny world of The Terrifying Realm of the Possible, where your worst fears of who you are or might become are always just around the corner. In these masterful short stories from the singular mind of the actor and comedian Brett Gelman, you’ll meet five individuals, each navigating a uniquely strange stage of life:
    - ABRAHAM AMSTERDAM (the child)
    - MENDEL FREUDENBERGER (the teenager)
    - JACKIE COHEN (the adult)
    - IRIS BELOW (the senior)
    - Z (the dead)
Our characters face the big issues; the ones we all face. As they traverse the prickly terrain of morality, family, sex, fame, religion, and death they search for answers to life's unanswerable questions. In the futility of that search comes the absurdity, along with the comedy. The composite portrait is an existential (mis)adventure of Rothian proportions. Gelman's remarkable first book is a bold, unforgettable debut that challenges our assumptions about what it means to be human.
