Summary

Visible Spectrum Uses reveals the diverse and often overlooked applications of visible light across technology and science. From medical diagnostics to artistic expression, this book explores how we utilize visible light, a part of the electromagnetic spectrum, to innovate and understand the world around us. For example, advanced imaging technologies like microscopy and endoscopy rely on visible light to create detailed representations, while sensing and detection methods employ it for environmental monitoring, demonstrating its versatility.

The book begins with the physics of visible light, explaining its wave-particle duality and interaction with matter, before systematically exploring its applications. It highlights the use of visible light in imaging technologies, sensing and detection, and artistic applications, emphasizing its role in shaping industries and expanding scientific understanding.

The book argues that visible light is an indispensable resource, driving innovation across medicine, manufacturing, and art, and concludes with future trends in this field. This resource is valuable to scientists, engineers, students, and anyone curious about light technology and its real-world impact. By understanding how to manipulate and interpret visible light, we unlock possibilities for advancements and gain a deeper appreciation for its influence.

Mastering Object-Oriented Programming is a comprehensive course designed to build your foundation in OOP concepts and practical skills. By learning and applying core object-oriented design principles, you'll write cleaner, more efficient, and maintainable code for real-world applications. This course covers fundamental concepts including classes, objects, attributes, and methods, helping you create and instantiate classes effectively. You’ll understand key principles such as encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism, enabling you to build flexible, reusable code.Advanced topics like abstract classes, interfaces, and design patterns are included to enhance your software architecture skills. You’ll also learn to manage object lifecycles with constructors and destructors, handle exceptions gracefully, and compare composition versus inheritance for optimal design choices.Industry best practices such as SOLID principles, UML diagramming, and testing strategies are integrated to help you produce maintainable, scalable, and reliable codebases.By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to design, implement, and maintain complex object-oriented systems confidently, transforming your approach to software development with clean, reusable, and robust code.

Several years ago I became interested in the ideas of real time travel and dimensional travel. I’ve been trained in science and modern physics as well as engineering so I knew that modern theories of our physical world did not include the possibilities that time or dimensional travel existed.
As I did my research on stories of people who had travelled through time or additional dimensions there were many very credible stories. These stories eventually led me to conclude that time or dimensional travel through portals or veils does exist and some persons have experienced it.
On a book I wrote about the Tuatha Da Dannon who were the forerunners of elves, the Druids, and more there were stories that they originated in a different dimension called the Otherworld. And there were some interesting stories of humans who had traveled to the Otherworld and back.
It also turns out that the more one studies these subjects the more historical stories there are of portal, dimensional, and time travel experiences people have had.
This book then is a detailed review and exploration of portals around the world. Some of which are very plausible and others just might exist. Also could these portals be used today?
There are also lots of stories of individuals travelling through time and dimensional portals.
There are lots of interesting questions on this subject and we are just starting to learn the answers.

Despite significant progress in the management of oral health, tooth decay remains stubbornly widespread and resilient. Complicating this further, there remain gaps in clinical use and knowledge involving fluoride and remineralization therapies. To help address these problems, Demin/Remin in Preventive Dentistry explores demineralization and remineralization processes by synthesizing a variety of data and research to produce a fresh perspective from one who has devoted significant effort to improving remineralization therapies in preventive dentistry.
The source material for this book is fairly diverse, with more than 900 references called forth from various fields of study, including medicine, dentistry, chemistry, biology, materials science, food science, along with reports and articles from journalists, and nonprofit and government organizations. Divided into 10 distinct chapters, the topics discussed include oral bacteria, foods and drinks, acids, pH, sound and demineralized enamel structure, dental therapeutics used throughout history, fluoride and various fluoride formats (including toothpastes, varnishes and more), calcium phosphate systems, remineralization processes, and perspectives related to minimally invasive dentistry.
Global tooth decay remains a major socioeconomic burden, commanding the need for improved oral health strategies. Demin/Remin in Preventive Dentistry provides a fresh look at an old (and largely preventable!) problem by reviewing known information, as well as aspects not addressed in other dentistry books. Demin/Remin in Preventive Dentistry will appeal especially to those with a ‘prevention-first’ mindset, as well as researchers and clinicians passionate about delivering or improving oral health benefits for those of us both young and young at heart.

Most of the old factories are long gone and many workers have retired. Combining history, memory and heritage, Theatres of Memory: Industrial Heritage of 20th Century Singapore takes a stroll through Singapore’s industrial past. From Jurong to Redhill and Kallang, the book uncovers the many hands that enabled the island’s transformation from a colonial entrepôt to an industrial nation.

Along the way, we will meet the pioneers of industry—government officials and production workers, men and women, Singaporeans and foreigners. We will hear laughter on the assembly line, descend into the quiet dark of the night shift, and relive the products once made in Singapore, from Rollei cameras and Acma refrigerators to carbonated soft drinks and Bata shoes.
