Summary

Johnny Lee Capstone never thinks about settling down. As the owner and proprietor of Capstone's Dude Ranch, he tends to lust after the men who book vacations at his resort in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Sexy, insatiable, he focuses his attention on one man to feed his urgent needs.
But something is about to change as he approaches his 40th birthday, which coincidentally falls on Christmas Day. From December 1st until the 25th, Johnny Lee decides to take a sabbatical from hid desires, if he can. It's a chance for him to reexamine his life as a new year nears.
Someone else has something else in mind, a challenge Johnny Lee finds confounding ... and intriguing. It's the first day of the holiday season when that initial package arrives, with the simple phrase stating, "Just the Advent." A beginning.
Each day another missive arrives. Who is sending them, and why? Is it the fact he's hitting a new decade giving him a reason to rethink the way he lives his life? Is the sexuality he thrives on about to alter him? Maybe, he'll find a future.

Philip Noland is in his late thirties when his best friend, Jonathan, contracts AIDS. In an effort to maintain some control over Jonathan's illness, Philip becomes his caregiver and go-between with the hospital doctors.

The mid-1980's are a time of uncertainty and ignorance about the disease. Hysteria reigns supreme. Actors are reluctant to kiss gay costars because they believe saliva carries the virus. Others worry about sharing dishes and silverware. To add to the mix, what medical science doesn't know about this devastating illness could fill a condom the size of the Hindenburg.

Philip is not GQ gorgeous. He's the first to admit it. But he never gives up on his search for a soul mate, someone to complete him. In spite of the growing warnings about safe sex, Philip continues to look for Mr. Right, often in all the wrong places.

Then he meets Joshua. Is Philip's journey finally over? Or does fate have something -- or someone else -- in mind for him?

I’m the last single member of the Jilted Exes’ Club, and I have no plans to change that.
I’m fulfilled with my work at the club, dance classes, yoga, and the Exes. Plus, I’ve been extremely preoccupied with one Kason Maddox, the LA Rebels’ goalie. Let’s just say that since we’ve become friends, my eyes might drift in his general direction a little too much. But it’s only looking. And looking never harmed anyone…
Eventually, our texting sessions lead to dinners out and ending our nights watching our favorite shows. But when the paparazzi catch sight of us and the photos go viral, I suddenly find out I’ve had a boyfriend and didn’t know—a boyfriend without the benefits. And I’m thinking we should reconsider the benefits in this relationship if we are going to be in one.
    Kason
So…I thought we were dating. Turns out, the guy I was dating had no idea that’s what we were doing. Friend-zoned without even knowing it. Cool. The equivalent of taking a puck to the face.
But due to an innocent little photo or two, now everyone thinks we’re together, so we have three choices:

1-   Stop hanging out to silence the rumors.
2-   Hang out as friends and ignore the gossip blogs.
3-   Start dating—and both of us are aware of said dating this time.
I know which one I’m rooting for. And if I have to use a little dirty talk and some praise to shift things in my favor, I’m game.
