Sinopse

Welcome to your big-picture guide to the React ecosystem.

If you’re new to React and looking to become a professional React developer, this book is for you. This updated fifth edition reflects the current state of React, including React framework coverage as well as TypeScript.

Part 1 introduces you to React. You’ll discover JSX syntax, hooks, functional components, and event handling, learn techniques to fetch data from a server, and tackle the tricky problem of state management. Once you’re comfortable with writing React in JavaScript, you’ll pick up TypeScript development in later chapters.

Part 2 transitions you into React Native for mobile development. React Native goes hand-in-hand with React. With your React knowledge behind you, you’ll appreciate where and how React Native differs as you write shared components for Android and iOS apps. You’ll learn how to build responsive layouts, use animations, and implement geolocation.

By the end of this book, you’ll have a big-picture view of React and React Native and be able to build applications with both.

Genes, although tiny and imperceptible, play a pivotal role in shaping our physical characteristics, unless modified by medical intervention. Originating from the first man and woman, genes come in various types, with Y-Chromosomes and mtdna being extensively studied by geneticists. Y-DNA is inherited exclusively from fathers to sons, perpetuating through generations of male lineage, while mtdna is passed from mothers to all their offspring, albeit only daughters can transmit it further. The classification of Y-DNA and mtdna into letters helps delineate the genetic relationships across different populations and regions. However, these genetic markers often exhibit a mosaic distribution due to intermarriages, conflicts, and migrations throughout history. Despite these diversifications, humanity remains fundamentally linked to its ancestral roots, with distant connections to the original progenitors persisting through millennia of genetic mingling. Thus, while genetic variations have enriched our species over time, our collective genetic heritage underscores the profound interconnectedness among human populations worldwide.

"Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems: The Shift towards Distributed Computing Paradigms and the Growing Role of Cloud Computing in HPC" explores the transformative impact of cloud computing on the field of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and the evolution of distributed computing paradigms.
In recent years, there has been a dramatic shift in the way computing resources are provisioned and utilized. Traditional monolithic systems have given way to distributed computing models, where processing power is distributed across multiple nodes and interconnected through networks. This paradigm shift has been driven by the growing demand for scalable, flexible, and cost-effective computing solutions.
This book provides a comprehensive overview of the concepts, technologies, and applications that have emerged from this transition. It delves into the fundamental principles of distributed systems, covering topics such as distributed file systems, distributed storage, distributed databases, and distributed consensus algorithms. Readers will gain a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by distributed computing, including fault tolerance, scalability, and load balancing.
Whether you are a computer science student, a researcher, or a practitioner in the field of distributed systems or cloud computing, "Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems" provides a comprehensive guide to understanding the foundations, architectures, and applications of these transformative technologies. It equips you with the knowledge and tools necessary to embrace the power of distributed computing paradigms and leverage cloud computing for high-performance computing, enabling you to unlock new possibilities and drive innovation in your own projects and endeavors.

    The ADHD Consultation Hour ADHD...

The first edition of the 'small ADHD consultation', published in 2014, was originally created to provide my patients with a quick overview of the broad field of ADHD symptoms in adults as summarised as possible. It was important to me to integrate accompanying disorders and therapeutic options such as medication and coaching strategies. It is not uncommon for the underlying ADHD symptoms to be masked by disorders that develop later (such as obsessive thinking, anxiety, panic attacks and addictions). Only abnormalities in childhood, such as dreaminess or motor restlessness with impulsiveness, allow conclusions to be drawn. Patients and friends were kind enough to embellish this book with their contributions, sketches, pictures and poems. The significantly expanded 3rd edition of the 'Little ADHD Consultation' is due to the increased needs and demands of my patients and the new findings concerning ADHD. New topics such as neurofeedback, medication overview, neurobiological aspects and autistic accompanying phenomena as well as legal aspects and cannabis medication have been included. I wish you many A-HA experiences with this expansion.
