Born and reared in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Steve lived there through
his graduation from Manzano High School. Thinking that he was going “East” to
school, he was a Chancellor’s Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis,
graduating Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical degree at the Pritzker
School of Medicine at The University of Chicago, completed an internship in
Internal Medicine at the Hospitals of University of Chicago Hospitals and did his
