Sharon Balardo, author of the original children’s book, I Am Abel, once again shifts the focus to children’s abilities in the fifth and final Abel adventure, I Am Abel and the Public Speaking Contest. Throughout the series, Sharon confirms to her reader that all children have abilities. She reminds her reader to always to get to know a person before casting judgment. “We are often clouded by first appearances.
