Samer Al Najjar
Samer Al Najjar (b. 1994, Homs, Syria) is a Syrian-German author writing in both Arabic and German. After fleeing the Syrian civil war, he settled in Germany, where he studied German Studies and Political Science at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. His fiction explores memory, trauma, identity and exile. The Weight of Desires is the English translation of his debut novel, first published in Arabic in 2020 as "And the Dice Is Still Rolling", and translated from the author's own German...
