Richard Van Auken
He was born on February 15, 1955, in Otsego, Michigan. He graduated from Otsego High School in 1974. He lost his father in 1974, which started him on the road to writing as a way to release what was inside. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1981, with four years of active duty. He has been married three times, then he lost his lifelong partner of thirteen years in 2000. He has seen things that no man should see or feel. He retired from the navy reserves in 2001.
