Paulette Boudrot (Letendre, Johnson) was raised in Fall River, Massachusetts. She earned a BS in Education from Bridgewater State University, an MA in French Language and Literature from Middlebury College in Vermont, and a diploma in Twentieth-Century French Literature from the Sorbonne University of Paris.
