Chuck has taught English as a Second Language to Hispanic students for thirty years. He has taught them in middle school, high school, and adult education. Chuck is a Mexican-Chinese-American born in Brawley, California. He worked as a farm laborer before the Cesar Chavez era. He grew up in South Central Los Angeles during the Watts Riots.
