My name is Michelle.
I am thirty-seven years old and a single mother of three, and I live in Perth, Western Australia.
From the age of eleven, I wanted to be an author and illustrator.
With the support of my mum, Clara, and a wonderful primary-school librarian, Mr. Stephen Carly, I believed anything was possible.
I had my first son, Michael, at the age of sixteen.
A few years later, I started the first few illustrations for this book.
