Marjorie Bowen
Marjorie Bowen (1885-1952) was the pen name of Gabrielle Long, an English writer born in Hayling Island into poverty. She wrote her first novel at sixteen to support her mother and sister and went on to produce over a hundred and fifty books of historical fiction, biography and supernatural tales. Her works include The Viper of Milan, The Sword Decides, and Black Magic.
