Lucian of Samosata
Lucian of Samosata (c. 125 – after 180) was a Syrian who wrote Greek better than the Greeks and used it to mock philosophers, gods and credulity. His voyage to the moon is the earliest science fiction we have, and he says at the outset that every word of it is a lie.
