Louise Heal Kawai
Louise Heal Kawai has been translating Japanese literature since 2006. Originally from Manchester, but now living in Yokohama, she has translated a dozen novels as well as several short stories and plays. Her previous translations include The North Light and Seventeen by Hideo Yokoyama, the latter of which was longlisted for the Best Translated Book Award; Ms Ice Sandwich by Mieko Kawakami; and a variety of works in the mystery genre.
