Lafcadio Hearn
Lafcadio Hearn (1850–1904) was a writer and journalist born in Greece who worked in the United States and Japan. He lived in New Orleans and later taught in Tokyo, producing fiction and essays drawn from his experiences. His works include Chita: A Memory of Last Island (1889), a novella set on a Louisiana Gulf Coast island.
