Kurt B. Bakley was born October 15, 1954, at 8:11 p.m. on a Friday evening at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, across the river from Philadelphia during hurricane Hazel. He grew up hating books and dropping out of school until one night changed his life forever. He woke up with a tremendous interest in and energy for reading books and learning.
