Joan Bogert Brigham’s dream of college and becoming a writer was thwarted when she graduated from high school. Instead she became an insurance company file clerk, switchboard operator and typist. She never gave up, though. Married and a mother of three children, Joan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in eleven years, followed by a Master’s Degree in counseling.
