Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer
Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer (1836-1870) was a Spanish poet and writer born in Seville, orphaned young and dependent on journalism. He died of tuberculosis at thirty-four; his friends published his poems and legends the following year and he became the most beloved of Spanish romantic poets. His works include the Rimas and the Leyendas.
