George Borrow
George Borrow (1803–1881) was an English author and agent of the British and Foreign Bible Society, traveling widely in Europe and North Africa. He is known for the semi-autobiographical works Lavengro (1851) and The Romany Rye (1857), which draw on his encounters with the Romany people.
