Frances Sparrow
Frances Sparrow was born at the beginning of WWII. Her father was away for the first five years, so he was a stranger when he returned. Only two bombs dropped nearby in those five years, causing broken windows in their home. Rationing did not finish until she was twelve. Frances and her mother slept in a shelter built into a small bedroom. There was no fear, and all the children played in the street, as there were no cars.
