Frances Leigh Williams
Fresh out of college Frances Leigh Williams went to work on a newspaper the Richmond News Leader. She became research assistant to the editor Dr. Douglas Southall Freeman, biographer of Robert E. Lee, George Washington, and author of Lee’s Lieutenants. She continued to do free-lance writing for newspapers.
