Emily Zobel Marshall
Emily Zobel Marshall spent her childhood in a remote village in the mountains of Snowdonia in North Wales with her Black Caribbean mother and white English father. She is a Professor in Cultural Studies at Leeds Beckett University, and specialises in Caribbean literature and Caribbean carnival cultures. As well as poetry, she has published two non-fiction books, Anansi’s Journey (University of the West Indies Press), and American Trickster: Trauma Tradition and Brer Rabbit (Rowman and Littlefield).
