Summary

This audiobook is based upon the TV series of the same name. The heroine, Wei Yingluo, is a commoner intent upon avenging her sister's death. Through her quick mind, beauty and persistence, Yingluo  gains employment in the Forbidden City as a maid, and is able to earn the trust of the imperial family. The story is full of passion, bravery, treachery and never-ending plot twists. This series was the most popular Chinese TV drama in 2018, with billions of cumulative views, and was the most Googled show in 2018, according to BBC.Volume 1: On the second day of February in the sixth year of Qianlong, Wei Yingluo becomes a palace maid as a part of her plan to avenge her sister. She becomes acquainted with the queen's brother Fu Heng, and curries favor with the queen.
