تحدث سلام في روايته عن أول قصة حب له ومدى تاثيرها على حياته، فطلب منه فارس كرامة أن يزوره في بيته ليحدثه أكثر عن ماضيه مع والده :ولكي يعرفه على ابنته.فقام الكاتب بزيارة السيد كرامة وهناك تعرف على ابنته سلمى وكانت علاقته قويه بسيد كرامه، أحبها من أول نظرة وأصبح يزورها دائماً. كان يتعرف أكثر على سلمى ويزداد حبه وتعلقه بها. إستدعى المطران السيد فارس للتحدث معه في أمرٍ مهم مما اضطره للتوجه إليه في ذات الليلة وهذه كانت فرصة استغلها الكاتب ليعترف بحبه لسلمى والتي بادلته نفس الشعور.عند عودة السيد فارس من لقائه مع المطران اخبر سلمى بقرار زواجها من إبن أخ المطران، منصور بك والذي كان معروف بطمعه في الحصول على أملاك سلمى ووالدها. تزوج منصور بك بسلمى على غير إرادتها، ومرت الأشهر والفصول. بعد هذا الحادث بدأ الكاتب وسلمى يلتقيان مرة في الشهر في معبد صغير بعيد عن بيتها. في السنة الخامسة لزواج سلمى و منصور بك حملت سلمى بطفلا وبعد الولادة توفيت هي وطفلها .Ver libro

غادرت هبة حلمى مقعدها أمام اللوحة وباليتة الألوان لضرورة فنية بلا شك. وفي آخر معرض لها "أولد سكول" كان هناك أكثر من بورتريه لها. وهنا أيضًا في نصوص هذا الكتاب تبحث عن نفسها. ليس في الأمر نرجسية مطلقًا، بل على العكس تمامًا. ربما كان ما أسرني فى هذه النصوص بساطتها المتناهية، وانفتاحها على مختلف التأويلات. نصوص عصية على التصنيف، بقدر ما هى عصية على أن تصرح بشيء محدد أو محدود، فالكاتبة نفسها لم تصل إلى معان محددة.قد تكون كتابة هبة حلمى إحدى محاولاتها للتصالح مع النفس، والوصول لما يشبه السلام عبر الكتابة، لذلك تلمس القلب وتحفر فى الروح على نحو آسر. تبحث الراوية عن نفسها طفلة وامرأة وأما وفنانة منحازة للثورة والناس. تكتب هبة حلمي ما لم يكتب عن المرض والألم وجدة ومكة وعيادات الأطباء ومكابدات الحب والخوف. تكتب عن "متعة تقشير الجروح الغائرة"، عن تلك اللحظة التى "أحببنا فيها أنفسنا ونحن معا، أحببنا أنفسنا كما نحب أن نكون" عندما أشرقت شمس الثورة للحظات. وأخيرًا .. هذه النصوص كما كتبت هي فى إحداها: حنين لحلم لم يحدث أبدًا". محمود الوردانيVer libro
