Sproul.Davey was a young donkey who was bored and unhappy because he was never given anything to do. Then one day, some strangers came to the gate―and Davey’s master picked him for a very special task. Davey carried the King, Jesus, into Jerusalem. A few days later, Davey saw some angry people making the King carry a heavy beam of wood. Davey could not understand it―until another donkey helped him see that the King was being a Servant on behalf of His people. The Donkey Who Carried a King offers a unique perspective on the events of Jesus’ Passion Week and calls all believers, both young and old, to follow in the footsteps of the Suffering Servant for the glory of God. Revealing little-known facts about the fight to teach evolution in schools, this riveting account of the dramatic 1925 Scopes Trial (aka “the Monkey Trial”) speaks directly to today’s fights over what students learn, the tension between science and religion, the influence of the media on public debate, and the power of one individual to change history.
Arrested? For teaching? John Scopes’s crime riveted the world, and crowds flocked to the trial of the man who dared to tell students about a forbidden topic—evolution.
The year was 1925, and discussing Darwin’s theory of evolution was illegal in Tennessee classrooms. Lawyers wanted to challenge the law, and businessmen smelled opportunity. But no one imagined the firestorm the Scopes Trial would ignite—or the media circus that would follow.
As reporters, souvenir-hawking vendors, angry protestors, and even real monkeys mobbed the courthouse, a breathless public followed the action live on national radio broadcasts. All were fascinated by the bitter duel between science and religion, an argument that boiled down to the question of who controls what students can learn—an issue that resonates to this day.
Through evocative prose, Anita Sanchez vividly captures the passion, personalities, and pageantry of the infamous “Monkey Trial,” highlighting the quiet dignity of the teacher who stood up for his students’ right to learn.

First published in 1895, Lilith stands as one of George MacDonald’s most enigmatic and haunting works, a blend of fantasy, theology, and metaphysical speculation. Revered by literary giants such as C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, MacDonald’s fiction does not merely tell stories—it beckons readers into a deeper reality where moral and spiritual truths are woven into the very fabric of narrative.
Lilith is not a conventional fantasy. Instead, it is a dreamlike descent into questions of life, death, identity, and salvation. The protagonist, Mr. Vane, a reserved scholar, stumbles into a surreal realm beyond the physical world, where he encounters spectral beings, timeless landscapes, and the mysterious figure of Lilith—a being of both terrible beauty and tragic consequence. The novel explores the path from self-will to self-surrender, drawing heavily on Christian mysticism, Platonism, and a deep reverence for divine grace.

The story of "Daniel in the Lions' Den" is found in the Book of Daniel chapter 6, in the Old Testament. It tells of Daniel, a devout Jew who served as an advisor to King Darius of Babylon. The other Government leaders were jealous of Daniel and wanted to remove him from his position in the Government, so they devised a plan, but to their dismay, they could find nothing against Daniel, except the way he prayed and worshipped his God, so they approached the King Darius to make a decree that no man could pray or petition any man or God, only the King himself for 30 days, the King was well pleased with the plan, yet he had no idea his own leaders were out to destroy Daniel, thru this decree, a man of Integrity and Wisdom, whom King Darius loved and respected. Once the decree was signed it must be carried out so was the law of the Medes and Persians. "So they had Daniel", for he would not compromise his relationship with his God, and he continued his customary prayer time 3 times a day contrary to the Kings Decree. Daniel was Faithful to His God, and God was Faithful to Daniel by delivering him from the lions. When Daniel was put into the Lions Den, God sent an Angel and shut the Lions mouth, God delivered Daniel for he was Faithful to His God, the God of Heaven and Earth.
