Summary

God, as the Creator of man, has given every member of the human race a talent or talents with which to function in His universe. You have a talent! Every human being has a talent. Some human beings have many talents, but there is no human being without a talent.God has given each human being his talent or talents to help him to find his place in the universe, and to function readily. Discovering your talent, developing it and maximising its potential will enable you to live and function readily in the sphere of labour that God assigns to you. Leaving your talent aside and trying to acquire the talent of others and to do what they are doing or what they are supposed to do will lead to frustration. An ear cannot decide to function as an eye and succeed, neither can fishes decide to grow wings and succeed. The person who starts with one or a limited number of talents and employs these faithfully to the glory of God and the blessing of man, can ask and receive more talents from the Lord for more service. The person who does not invest his talent for God's glory and satisfaction will lose it to the one who is more faithful . Besides losing his talent, he will receive additional punishment for wasting God's talent. Consequently, all who have received talents from God are accountable to Him for what they do with what they have received. Most of the time, God allows a person to maintain his talent or talents after conversion to the Lord Jesus. Often, these are enhanced or increased in the act of conversion; so that people are capable of doing more, for the Lord Jesus after conversion, than they could do before. The talents of converted people and their spiritual gifts are to be used for the glory of God, the advancement of the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ and the service of man.Because talents are God's special abilities that He gives to man to use for Him, they best function in those who know radical conversion and radical consecration to Him. This is because the radically converted and radically consecrated know deep-seated deliverance from sin, self, bondage, the love of the world, the love of the things of the world and all else that will stand in the way of further development and use of the God-given talents. We therefore recommend radical conversion, radical sanctification and radical consecration as the normal way of life for all who want to make the best use of their God-given talent or talents. You have a talent.Seek to discover it.Know it.Develop it.Maximize its potential.Invest it in the service of God, man and yourself, and you will be truly fulfilled.God bless you exceedingly!

Updated with a new bonus epilogue!
From New York Times bestselling author Rachel Hauck comes Nashville Sweetheart, a story of dreams lost and found in one of America’s hottest cities.
“Packing witty dialogue, quirky characters, and a rocking country vibe, her story will make you laugh as it plunges you into the world of today’s country music industry.” —Christianbook.com
The media mystery that is superstar Aubrey James is about to be unraveled—one memory at a time.
At thirty years old, Aubrey James has been at the top of country charts for over a decade; but as the daughter of gospel icons Ray and Myra James, she was in the public eye long before her own success. Aubrey James knows Nashville stardom.
Though her parents’ untimely death gave Aubrey the kind of tragic legacy that Nashville royalty is made of, she would have preferred keeping her family . . . and the faith she lost somewhere along the way. Now she exists in a guarded, private world, letting nothing in, not even love.
But when her music director betrays Aubrey’s trust with a smear campaign of tabloid interviews, the star knows the time has come to go public with her private story for the first time. And when her Inside NashVegas interviewer turns out to be a man from her past—a man she’d hoped to forget—this interview gets complicated fast.
The music diva’s guarded heart is about to become a distant memory.
Nashville Sweetheart is a wild ride through the whirlwind of Nashville stardom, the political show that is the music business, and the secret faith that can fortify even the most tragic family ties.
*Nashville Sweetheart was originally published as Diva NashVegas.

A recent string of popular-level books written by the New Atheists have leveled the accusation that the God of the Old Testament is nothing but a bully, a murderer, and a cosmic child abuser. This viewpoint is even making inroads into the church. How are Christians to respond to such accusations? And how are we to reconcile the seemingly disconnected natures of God portrayed in the two testaments? In this timely and readable book, apologist Paul Copan takes on some of the most vexing accusations of our time, including:God is arrogant and jealousGod punishes people too harshlyGod is guilty of ethnic cleansingGod oppresses womenGod endorses slaveryChristianity causes violenceand moreCopan not only answers God's critics, he also shows how to read both the Old and New Testaments faithfully, seeing an unchanging, righteous, and loving God in both.
