Sinopse

A Satirical Meaning of Famous Quotes is a witty and sharp exploration of some of history's most iconic and widely quoted statements, offering a humorous twist on their original intentions. This book takes a playful approach to dissect well-known quotes from political figures, philosophers, celebrities, and cultural icons, turning them on their heads to reveal the absurdity and irony behind their often overused meanings. Each quote is paired with a satirical interpretation, offering a refreshing and comical perspective on their relevance in today’s world. From political missteps to philosophical paradoxes, this book invites readers to laugh at the wisdom of the ages while questioning the seriousness of those who have shaped history with their words. Whether you're a lover of satire, a fan of classic quotes, or someone looking to see the lighter side of well-worn expressions, this book delivers humor, insight, and a touch of irreverence.

My book is a teaching book for Christians that aren't exposed to manifestations of the Spirit and things like deliverance. It is filled with personal stories, so it is not scholarly at all. I don't want it to sound stuffy. I want it to sound like a shepherd teaching his flock. I want people to be filled with hope and to believe that my tools will help them succeed in their Christian walk and that they will grow as they interact with all three persons of the Trinity. If I have all caps I want a forceful voice like the prayer chapter. Prayer can be like telling your children to turn their music down. You have to raise the volume of your voice and be forceful. For the study questions, I would like a nice flowing pondering tone. My book is about the tools that I was given by God to succeed in having a passionate and fulfilling Christian walk. I hope people will be interactive and take an active part with interacting with God.

Life in Hollywood is easy to hate . . .

According to Hollywood insiders, Harper and Brett Kennedy have the perfect family life—an image that has been carefully cultivated by an army of PR experts at Galaxy Studios. The truth is, their relationship has been on the rocks since Brett cheated when Harper was pregnant with their youngest child. Four years later, he's still cheating, but this time with the nanny.

When the tabloids find out, a media frenzy ensues, all but making Harper and her kids prisoners in their Pacific Palisades mansion. Needing time out of the spotlight to regroup, Harper rents a cabin in the last place the press or anyone else would ever think to look for her—Gamble, Alaska.

There, she finds peace, solitude, and Digger McKenzie. Will the gruff lodge owner, who goes out of his way to make Harper feel like she doesn't belong, realize he's about to miss out on his one chance at happiness? Will Harper's kids adjust to small-town life and heal from the chaos of their parents' separation? Will Harper learn how to shoot a bear?

As children we can’t help but dream of all of the amazing things that we will accomplish. Then life happens. We get a job, we get a house, and we get into debt. We settle. We trade away our youth, for security in old age. We spend countless hours performing mundane tasks that leave us depleted and empty. Our souls crave meaning, but we are too afraid to make any change. We work for the weekend. Work for the holidays. Work for retirement. We live to work, rather than working to live.Through sardonic humour, Wage Slave highlights the absurdity of the modern approach to work and life.

Princess Aubrey of Malquar has loved Grady Basset since they were kids. She followed him and her brother around wherever they went; she wrote his name in her diary repeatedly; and she even practiced saying her name with his last name—for years.

There's only one problem. Grady has never shown any romantic interest in her.

As the son of the king's secretary, Grady grew up playing with the royal children. His best friend is Prince Alistair, the second in line for the throne. While he's drawn to Princess Bree, he knows that there's no way they can be together. Bree's station is too far above his.

As the captain of the royal yacht, Grady sees Bree often, but in recent months the princess has been rude, belligerent, and an all-around pain in the butt. When unforeseen circumstances have Grady taking Bree on a cruise in the Mediterranean—alone—things really start to heat up.

Will Grady finally give Bree a chance? Will it be too late?

“I stuck a hair dryer on me bunion to stretch me skin out. Didn’t bloomin’ work.”
So begins Brad’s uproarious new life as an Essex native who’s yanked from living his pipe dream in the Spanish sunshine to the grey and wet northwest of England.
In this comedy memoir, Brad is catapulted to a strange land in his homeland where complete strangers tell him about their bunions and insist on showing him the holes “they burned” in the crotch of their swimming trunks.
It’s a land of confusion where everything he thought true comes into question: bread rolls are now called, “barms"; tea is something you eat not drink; almond milk is unheard of because, “yer don't get teats on an almond, stupid!”
It’s a land where Brad is so cold that he’s wearing more coats than a nightclub cloakroom can handle while the locals casually stroll around in their beachwear.
Will fish out of water Brad sink or swim as he adapts to the culture shock of being a soft southerner up north?
One thing’s for sure, you’re in for a pant-pissing, rollercoaster ride of mishaps, mayhem, and meat pies.
