sun memos is the second self-published poetry book by platinum ARIA accredited, Australian singer-songwriter, Ziggy Alberts. Differentiating from his lyrical work, sun memos is an introspective look behind the mind of the musician on the road and at home. Featuring his signature environmental metaphors, sun memos, is split into four parts and allows readers to join him on a journey of personal realisations and is an invitation to enter into a vulnerable relationship between the writer and the reader with each page.
sun memos was brought to life amongst the relative chaos of Ziggy Alberts’ extensive touring the world.  As Ziggy said -
“it was almost lost in the years between, and I can breathe a sigh of relief now these sun memos are bundled into these pages. Writing poetry has nothing to do with publishing it. Writing poetry is what music has been for me since the very beginning: an outpour.
    Minimal planning, maximum emotion.
Like my first book, brainwaves, this is another thoughtfully independent project made possible by my family & friends at Commonfolk Publishing.
Looking forward to connecting with you all for the second time, and again."

Songbook - The Lyrics and Music...

From the award-winning, multi-genre author and musician Steven Heighton, Songbook brings together Heighton’s lyrics and music for the first time in a single volume, including his final songs, which have never been heard or seen until now. When Steven Heighton died suddenly of cancer in 2022, he was in the middle of an intensely creative period of songwriting. He released his first album of original material, The Devil’s Share, in 2021 and was preparing to record his second album. Known first as a poet, Heighton had always held that “music and poetry are two words for the same thing.”

As in his songwriting, in Songbook, Heighton moves fluidly between genres and subjects, from political songs like “The Butcher’s Bill,” about the carelessness of nations sending their youth to war, to reimagining the myth of Orpheus (“I'll hold my breath the whole way down / And find your soul in the undertown”), to blues tunes like “Last Living Woman Alive,” and a tribute to the late John Prine, the “Buddha of Song.” With chords accompanying the lyrics, readers and musicians have the ability to bring the songs to life with their own interpretations. The music in Songbook was the final work of Heighton’s life, and it is not only a gift to have his lyrics and chords but an invitation from Heighton himself, challenging his readers to answer the call and keep singing along.

While the poetry you’ll read in Ron Wallace’s latest collection speaks of serious topics such as loss and the inescapable progression of time, you’ll also find plenty of humor in these pages.
His words bring to life his beloved Oklahoma prairies and skies, and his own family members.
Wallace’s reflections on childhood, his parents, and, of course, baseball, are heartwarming.
Ron Wallace is an award-winning poet and adjunct English professor from Durant, Oklahoma. His soothing voice will bring the plains of Oklahoma to life.

Anyone who has visited Sedona, in the high desert of Arizona, will know that it is one of the most beautiful townships in the world. I am fortunate to live there. My home is nestled midst spectacular scenery, with views of red rocks and ancient vortexes. It is the perfect environment to inspire a poet, and hence the title of this book, Desert of Inspiration. Many of these poems were written while I was out on my daily hikes.
The poems are in the exact chronological order that they were written. I averaged writing more than one poem a week over a two year period. You can follow my path of inspiration and imagination during this time. I take you through the four seasons of each year. You will find deep, thoughtful poems; poems of fantasy, and humorous poems, as you explore my magical world. I am a professional magician, but also have a strong connection with the magic and miracles of nature. I was born in Northumberland, England, the son of an Anglican clergyman. As a child, I lived in vicarages with large gardens, and always enjoyed outside activities such as climbing trees, playing amongst wildflowers, and creating rock gardens. I felt my spirit was in tune with Mother Earth and the elementals. During these early years, I was also performing magic tricks and writing poetry.
The last two poems were written in March 2020, when planet Earth was in a turbulent time with the pandemic known as COVID-19. How this was all going to play out was unclear when the book was published, but we were certainly going through times of great change. I am hopeful that many good lessons were learned by humanity from this experience. There are powerful, positive, and profound messages hidden within these chapters. By inviting my listeners to look inward, I hope to make them see their true light, where there often appears to be only darkness and shadows. Enjoy the journey!
