Sinopse

William Shakespeare is almost universally considered the English language's most famous and greatest writer. In fact, the only people who might dispute that are those who think he didn't write the surviving 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems still attributed to him. Even people who never get around to reading his works in class are instantly familiar with titles like King Lear, Othello, Hamlet, Macbeth, and Romeo & Shakespeare.

Of all Shakespeare's works, Romeo & Juliet is probably the most famous of all. Arguably the most famous play in history, everyone is familiar with the classic tragedy, which tells the love story of a young boy and girl from rival families, and the fateful results that come about because of their forbidden love.

CHAMBERS: I began, as was natural, with the Chambers I had just left. They were an upper set on a rotten staircase, with a mysterious bunk or bulkhead on the landing outside them, of a rather nautical and Screw Collier like appearance than otherwise, and painted an intense black.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, written by Mark Twain, is a timeless coming-of-age story set in the small, fictional town of St. Petersburg, Missouri, along the Mississippi River. The novel follows the mischievous and imaginative Tom Sawyer as he navigates childhood adventures, moral dilemmas, and life lessons. Alongside his best friend, Huckleberry Finn, and other memorable characters, Tom embarks on a series of escapades that include hunting for buried treasure, witnessing a murder in a graveyard, and pretending to be pirates on a deserted island. The story captures the essence of youthful innocence, freedom, and curiosity, while also delving into themes of friendship, societal expectations, and personal growth. Through Tom's escapades, Twain paints a vivid picture of 19th-century rural America, blending humor, drama, and a sense of nostalgia. As Tom faces challenges that test his courage and conscience, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer becomes more than just a tale of boyhood fun. It offers profound insights into human nature, the complexities of growing up, and the value of doing the right thing, even when it's difficult. This novel remains a beloved classic for its universal appeal, rich characters, and masterful storytelling.

The Baron is a short story by Katherine Mansfield: "Who is he?" I said. "And why does he sit always alone, with his back to us, too?" - "Ah!" whispered the Frau Oberregierungsrat, "he is a Baron." - She looked at me very solemnly, and yet with the slightest possible contempt - a "fancy-not-recognising-that-at-the-first-glance" expression.
