Sinopse

Shakespeare's immortal play Hamlet needs little introduction, but in short: A Danish prince learns from his father (now a ghost) that he was murdered by his own brother Claudius, who married the prince's mother and took the throne. Full of angst and doubt, Hamlet spends the rest of the play wracked with indecision: to kill or not to kill Claudius, that is... one of the nagging questions. But all the uncertainty at hand is the best part - Is Hamlet really crazy or is he just putting on a show? Is the ghost really his dad or is Hamlet truly nuts?  It is its layers of potential meaning that make Shakespeare's play so monumental. There is the standard reading that says Hamlet lags in action because he's in fact torn with guilt; then there's the alternative reading that says he hated his father and loved his mother a little too much, thus his inaction is based on some Oedipal complex.

'Poignant, humane and uncompromising' —STEPHEN MORRISON-BURKE
As King Cnut proved, tide and time wait for no human: An AnthropoScene, the first part of this collection, dives into the rising tides of geo-political change, the second, Our Future Is Now Downloading, explores sea-changes of more personal natures. Nathan's debut, Threads, was long-listed for the Polari First Book Prize. _x0003_His follow-up bears all the watermarks of someone who's swum life's emotional spectrum. Short and (bitter)sweet, this is poetry for a mobile generation, poetry for sharing – often humorous, always honest about contemporary human experience, saying more in a few lines than _x0003_politicians say in volumes, it offers an antidote to modern living

In this volume of Nonsense verse you’ll find many favourites to take you back to the time and place where most things are a little upside down or back to front including favourites from Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll and quite a few others to giggle along with.

A worm's eye view of post-Communist Russia, from the Siberian-born author of Plasticine.
A remote railway station in the 'Boundless Motherland'. Stranded there are a young spiv, selling overpriced toasters to the local peasantry, and his heavily pregnant wife. They don't like the place, they don't like the people, and they don't much like each other…
Vassily Sigarev's play Black Milk, in this English translation by Sasha Dugdale, was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre, London, in 2003.

'Raw, flawed, but very interesting indeed' - The Times

Sometimes lovers enter a relationship with the best of intentions but wind up in a place far from love.
Sometimes poets attempt love poems, simple and pure, but . . .
Over breakfast, a husband trying to deny creeping out on his wife the previous night can’t help but give hints about the creepy things he really did. On a beach, a man minding his own business is accosted by a pretty woman before a strong tide embarrasses them both. A husband and wife debate over what to name a child conceived illicitly. A tone-deaf proposal for marriage ends in murder. A traditionally arranged marriage spins into a deranged and surreal nightmare.
These aren’t anti-love poems. These are poems born and burned out of love.

It’s not recommended that a reader attempt the entire book in one sitting. Many of the poems are dense, complex, and may go straight to the head. Best to peruse in small doses, with a preferred drink in hand.
