Sinopsis

Synopsis:
The protagonist of the epic tale "Alien Moon: Love in the Time of Invasion" is Ava, a great astronomer who sees a strange object crash-land in the adjacent forests. She soon learns that the mysterious object is really a spaceship with hostile aliens that represent a serious danger to mankind.
Ava manages to escape the aliens with the aid of a small handful of survivors and finds safety in a nearby military base, where she meets General Mark Roberts, a seasoned warrior who has been putting together an event like this for years. They come up with a strategy to counter the alien danger together.
Ava and her company develop strong relationships as they get ready for the decisive fight and are motivated to defend mankind as a whole. Ava's scientific expertise is used to devise a plan to take out the aliens' weapons and shields while they acquire the necessary supplies by storming a weapons stockpile.
Hours of furious combat are spent on each side, but Ava and her team fight valiantly and triumph, earning the admiration of the thankful survivors. Yet they continue to be on guard since they are aware that future extraterrestrial incursions still pose a danger.
An exciting science fiction book that will have readers on the edge of their seats is "Alien Moon: Love in the Time of Invasion." It is a must-read for aficionados of the genre because of its fast-paced action, well-developed characters, and pulse-pounding tension.

    Dear Santa,

Find me a fake boyfriend I can take home for the holidays . . .

There are certain things I never thought I'd do. Hiring an escort to pose as my boyfriend sits at the top of that list. But the idea of sitting alone at Mom's table for the fifth year in a row after my fiancé cheated on me has me feeling desperate. It started as a drunken joke when I let my best friend convince me to fill out an application for a male escort. Now, I'm on my way to see my family with the man I paid for.

He's nothing like the polished professional I expected—complete with tattoos, a sinful muscular physique, and a blunt attitude. Yet there's something he's hiding under his gruff exterior, and while I'm supposed to be getting to know my fake boyfriend, I'd rather learn about who this mysterious man truly is.

What started as a simple business transaction isn't so simple anymore. We can barely keep our hands off each other—even when no one's watching. The lines we drew in our contract are blurring, and it doesn't feel like we're pretending. I can't keep up with our lie for much longer.

But how can I trust my heart with someone who fakes love for a living?

    Contains mature themes.

This program is read by actor and singer-songwriter Maya Hawke, star of Netflix's Stranger Things."Narrating in a voice as clear and sustaining as a cool glass of water, Hawke’s unflashy approach allows the words to reveal their magic."—The Orange County Register"Didion’s timeless essays shine with Hawke at the helm. This audiobook will bring new listeners to this classic and is highly recommended for libraries everywhere.”—Library Journal (Starred Review)“Maya Hawke performs this classic collection superbly...Hawke gets Didion's measured pace and thoughtful tone just right as she conveys the much admired author's idiosyncratic, elegant language.”—AudioFile (Earphones Award Winner)Celebrated, iconic, and indispensable, Joan Didion’s first work of nonfiction, Slouching Towards Bethlehem, is considered a watershed moment in American writing. First published in 1968, the collection was critically praised as one of the “best prose written in this country.”More than perhaps any other book, this collection by one of the most distinctive prose stylists of our era captures the unique time and place of Joan Didion’s focus, exploring subjects such as John Wayne and Howard Hughes, growing up in California and the nature of good and evil in a Death Valley motel room, and, especially, the essence of San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury, the heart of the counterculture. As Joyce Carol Oates remarked: “[Didion] has been an articulate witness to the most stubborn and intractable truths of our time, a memorable voice, partly eulogistic, partly despairing; always in control.”A Macmillan Audio production from Farrar, Straus and Giroux.
