Summary

We are delighted to announce the release of a new series of English books for young and old that introduce readers to the world and culture of ancient Greece through the iconic heroines of mythology. Whether adaptations of classic tragedies by Euripides, Aeschylus, and Sophocles or original works based on well-known sources, these books aim to take readers on a journey of adventure, drama, death, and love while focusing on the women who they played such an important part in our history - and are often still remembered as mere spectators. The series begins with six books: Medea, Circe, Electra, Helen, Ariadne, and Antigone. The first three are issued in March 2024, while the next three in the summer. Each book can be read separately and you can start reading in any order, but there is a basic thread that ultimately connects all these characters and provides a broader view of what it was like to be a woman in the ancient Greek world.
Vittorio Mattioli and Mike French are writers, translators and editors of texts and books. "Citizens of the world", they created the company Read Panda Editing, based in Estonia. Vittorio is Greek-Italian and lives in Athens and Mike (despite his last name) is British and lives in Brussels. They provide their services mainly in English, but you can also communicate with them in Italian, French, Greek, Icelandic and Spanish. The series Great Women of Greek Mythology is their first publishing work in Greece.
The special covers of the series have been designed by the talented illustrator Little Miss Grumpy. Born in Athens, she dreamed of becoming an actress, but eventually became one of the most promising illustrators of her generation. He draws, sketches and paints for books and newspapers and creates objects with… personality.
Available since: 09/03/2024.
Print length: 140 pages.

    Nikolai
Hockey is my life, and I need to make this last season count. But when I’m forced to transfer to rival school McKee University for my senior year, I risk pissing off the captain, who happens to be the older brother of Isabelle Callahan: the gorgeous beam of sunshine I messed around with in secret this summer.

Rekindling our fling could risk her brother icing me off the team—not to mention the fact that my scarred past makes having a real relationship impossible—and yet the moment I see Isabelle again, all my wild, burning feelings come rushing back.

    Izzy
I have two goals for sophomore year: win back my old volleyball position, and forget I ever knew devilishly handsome hockey defenseman Nikolai Abney-Volkov. As the youngest and only daughter in a family full of athletes, failure isn’t an option.

But when Nik crashes back into my life, I can’t stay away from his broody charm. I’m determined to guard my heart this time, but between the furtive hookups and the heartfelt conversations, the lines between friends-with-benefits and more begin to blur.

As we fall deeper into a place we can’t come back from unscathed, we’ll have to make a choice: fight for a future together, or watch it go up in flames.

Filled with swoons, spice, sports, and koalas, Wicked Serve is a don’t-miss new adult college sports romance.

Set in Vienna from 1910 to 1946, All of You Every Single One is an atmospheric, original, and deeply moving novel about family, freedom, and how true love might survive impossible odds.Julia Lindqvist, a woman unhappily married to a famous Swedish playwright, leaves her husband to begin a passionate affair with a female tailor named Eve. The pair run away together and settle in the more liberal haven of Vienna, where they fall in love, navigate the challenges of their newfound independence, and find community in the city’s Jewish quarter. But Julia’s yearning for a child throws their fragile happiness into chaos and threatens to destroy her life and the lives of those closest to her. Ada Bauer’s wealthy industrialist family have sent her to Dr. Freud in the hope that he can cure her mutism—and do so without a scandal. But help will soon come for Ada from an unexpected place, changing many lives irrevocably.Through the lives of her queer characters, and against the changing backdrop of one of the greatest cities of the age, Hitchman asks what it’s like to live through oppression, how personal decisions become political, and how far one will go to protect the ones they love. Moving across Europe and through decades, Hitchman’s sophomore novel is an intensely poignant portrait of life and love on the fringes of history.
