In The AI Engineering Bootcamp: Build, Ship, Share, AI Makerspace cofounders "Dr. Greg" Loughnane and Chris "The Wiz" Alexiuk guide the listener through the foundational concepts and code needed to build production-grade Large Language Model (LLM) applications using leading open-source tooling. The book explains the four primary design patterns of generative AI―prompt engineering, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and agentic reasoning―and how to leverage them as first principles to build scalable LLM applications that are high-performance and efficient.
You'll find classroom-tested lessons that offer immediate insights into building LLM applications, as well as example projects to give you hands-on experience that can be immediately applied within our company or with your clients today. The AI Engineering Bootcamp provides everything you need, from your initial AI-assisted Interactive Development Environment (IDE) set up and first deployment to the boilerplate Python code you need to prototype LLM, RAG, agent, and multi-agent applications. The book also covers how to prepare your prototypes for production by setting up open-source LLM and embedding model endpoints, leveraging caching for prompts and embeddings, what you need to host and deploy your application on premise, and more.

Being human entails an astonishingly complex interplay of biology and culture, and while there are important differences between women and men, there is a lot more variation and overlap than we may realize. Sex Is a Spectrum offers a bold new paradigm for understanding the biology of sex, drawing on the latest science to explain why the binary view of the sexes is fundamentally flawed.

In this lively and provocative book, leading biological anthropologist Agustín Fuentes begins by tracing the origin and evolution of sex, describing the many ways in the animal kingdom of being female, male, or both. Turning to humans, he presents evidence from the fossil and archaeological record that attests to the diversity of our ancestors' sexual bonds, gender roles, and family and community structures, and shows how the same holds true in the lived experiences of people today. Fuentes tackles hot-button debates around sports and medicine, explaining why we can acknowledge that females and males are not the same while also embracing a biocultural reality where none of us fits neatly into only one of two categories.

Bringing clarity and reason to a contentious issue, Sex Is a Spectrum shares a scientist's perspective on why a binary view of sex and gender is not only misguided but harmful, and why there are multitudes of ways of being human.

The Wolf poem :: was inspired by William Blake's - 'The Tyger'.
It has the same regular form & meter as The Tyger.
With tempo and stanza (of the quatrain type), and is about one single animal in the natural world.
Where it differs from William Blake's poem is that the Poem Tyger has more religious connotations, not surprising for the times in which it was written.
Whereas 'The Wolf' written by myself, has more of Natures influences.
It's also about the possible demise totally of the Wolf through man, and a warning of this.
As we take care of The Wolf and other similiar 'top predator' animals,
so we automatically take care of the natural habitat that they live in - something that is increasing in peoples consciousness today.

A leading neuroscientist describes the long evolutionary process that led to the human brain.
Our human brain is both unique and similar to that of other species. The only way we can trace its evolution is by comparing it to the brains of animals alive today. In this book, leading neuroscientist Rogier Mars offers an engaging account of the evolution of the brain by exploring the brains and cognitive capacities of animals from the humble sea squirt to the socially minded fox and the tiny shrew.
By examining the challenges that different animals and their ancestors faced, Mars shows that we can understand what drove the evolution of their brains. Early vertebrates became predators of the sea; mammals evolved a complex neocortex to deal with foraging for high-energy food; and social primates adapted to contend with a fast-changing environment in which groups of individuals team up to get food. Over the course of a long evolutionary road, the ancestors of present-day animals and their descendants continually adapted to challenges, modifying their brains again and again. For us humans, this process gradually led to a brain that is capable of so much, from inventing language to traveling into space.
Mars leads listeners across eras and species, showing us how we resemble our animal cousins, how we differ from them, and how animals in one branch of the evolutionary tree did the hard evolutionary work of becoming human.
