You never heard such sounds in your life In 1964, Bernard Stollman launched the independent record label ESP-Disk’ in New York City to document the free jazz movement there. A bare-bones enterprise, ESP was in the right place at the right time, producing albums by artists like Albert Ayler, Pharoah Sanders, and Sun Ra, as well as folk-rock bands like the Fugs and Pearls Before Swine. But the label quickly ran into difficulties and, due to the politically subversive nature of some productions and sloppy business practices, it folded in 1974. Always in Trouble tells the story of ESP-Disk’ through a multitude of voices—first Stollman’s, as he recounts the improbable life of the label, and then the voices of many of the artists involved.

The Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Church Choir of Cleveland (renamed Exultate), Ohio crowns the beginning of its I0th year of musical activity with the release of its first recording. Formed in the fall of 1982 for the purpose of singing during the services of major religious and national holidays at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, it is made up of 27 choristers of Lithuanian descent.Over the course of 10 years, in addition to its standing commitment at OLPH Church, the choristers have accepted numerous invitations to perform sacred and folk music. Some highlights of such engagements include performing in Rome (Italy), Chicago, Rochester and Cleveland during the commemoration of the 600th anniversary of Christianity in Lithuania (1987), singing at the McMillan Theatre of the University of Toronto during the Fourth Lithuanian Cultural Congress (June 1988), performing numerous times with the Lithuanian Folk Dance Ensemble "Grandinėlė", and participating in the Seventh Lithuanian Song Festival (Chicago, May 1991.)With the release of this recording, the OLPH choir renders to its listeners a sampling of its Christmas repertoire. We hope that the echo of these hymns will resound in your homes throughout the Christmas season, and that the common language of music will bring all peoples of the world closer together in peace and harmony.

It's Going to be a Bright New Day: Would You Rather, with Bonnie 'Prince' Billy is Max Porter asking Will Oldham questions. Will Oldham has to say whether he would rather one thing, or another. Many topics are covered, including music, sex, cuisine, literature and travel. Some people believe that the Would You Rather format is better suited to a long car journey than a pamphlet, but we disagree. It works just fine on the page. More than that, it's very interesting and occasionally profound.

A unique collection of everything that Ibsen wrote about the theatre.
Three new productions of plays by Henrik Ibsen open somewhere in the world every week. Moreover, they are adapted into multiple genres: Chinese and Western Opera, Japanese Noh theatre, puppet plays, musicals, dance performances, tourist spectacles, promenade performances, applied theatre, community events, and every possible screen technology.
The more successful Ibsen became as a playwright, the more reluctant he was to make public pronouncements about the practice of theatre, but his thoughts on the art form can be gleaned by mining his prefaces, letters, speeches and newspaper articles.
For the first time, these fragments have been gathered together in one volume. Arranged chronologically, they throw a unique light on Ibsen's views on theatre production, casting, translation, the business of theatre, and most importantly his own plays. The result is an invaluable resource for those who seek to know what Ibsen himself thought about his work and about the theatre of his time.
Ibsen on Theatre is edited, introduced and annotated by Frode Helland and Julie Holledge, with new translations by May-Brit Akerholt. Also included is a foreword by Richard Eyre.
Ibsen on Theatre is in the Nick Hern Books ...On Theatre series: what the world's greatest dramatists had to say about theatre, in their own words.
'For anyone interested in Ibsen's plays—actors, directors, students, audiences—[this is] a marvellously accessible compendium of the thoughts of a man I now unhesitatingly describe as a very great playwright.' Richard Eyre, from his Foreword
