Vikki Downey is a spirited author, educator, and entrepreneur, who has lived the unique life of a police wife for over three decades. With no prior connections to law enforcement, Vikki's journey began when her husband, John, embarked on a distinguished career with the Los Angeles Police Department, serving in demanding roles from gang units to the Patrol Rifle/Tactical Shotgun Unit, before an early retirement after 25 years on the job. 
While supporting John's career and navigating the complexities of police family life, Vikki found her own path as a teacher, mentor, and businesswoman. Driven by a desire to offer support and empowerment, she retired herself, early, to focus on her family and assist other police spouses in balancing life's challenges through entrepreneurship, thus reducing the need for risky overtime work. 
Inspired by the support of friends and her passion for making a difference, Vikki authored this, her debut book, Police Wife Survival Guide. Aimed at first responder wives and families, her work is a beacon of hope and solidarity, offering practical advice, encouragement, and a community for those who share this unique life experience. Vikki Downey stands as a testament to resilience, adaptation, and the power of shared stories to uplift and unite.
