Firefights, mortar attacks, and friendly fire were all part of the experiences of an infantryman in the jungles of the Central Highlands of Vietnam. But bugs, leeches, exhaustion, swamps, accidents, snakes, C-rations, digging in, cutting overhead cover, grief, humor, camaraderie, rain, thirst, impressive weapons, useless weapons, care packages, and much, much more filled up most of the infantryman's one-year tour in Vietnam.

Daily life as an infantryman in Vietnam was a completely foreign experience compared to the lives most young American soldiers knew growing up. The war and the jungle saw to that. Soldiers had to cope and adapt. Almost all did.

In this book, the author tells many stories of events he personally experienced during his year in Vietnam. Through these stories, he aptly describes the daily life and shared experiences of soldiers in the 4th Infantry Division in the jungles of Vietnam's Central Highlands.

Anyone who has a personal connection with someone who served as an infantryman in Vietnam or simply has curiosity about infantry life in Vietnam will better understand, after listening to this book, the answer to the question "What was daily life like for them there?"

Kunal Gupta climbed the ladder of success and found it leaning against the wrong wall.
He had it all. Despite being CEO of a thriving technology business, living on the 54th floor of a luxury condo building, traveling business class everywhere, having a life filled with luxury, being in a committed and loving relationship, and having optimal physical health, life felt empty.
"How to Live" follows Kunal’s path to experiment with life over a ten year journey where he quietly gave up material possessions for two years, slept on strangers' couches for over one hundred nights, jumped off cliffs to overcome fear, meditated daily for 10+ years and spontaneously moved to Portugal on three days notice.
Kunal takes readers on his transformative journey of self-discovery, moving from external validation to inner fulfillment. Guided by insatiable curiosity, Kunal embarked on a series of life experiments, challenging societal norms and inherited personal beliefs, with each experiment reshaping his perspective on life, success, and happiness.
“How to Live” is an invitation to redefine life by challenging the status quo and seeking true meaning and purpose. Drawing from philosophy and psychology, Kunal offers insights from his path to inspire others looking to challenge the belief patterns in their lives and live authentically.
Published by Spark, a new breed of publisher for the digital age, each chapter of "How to Live" offers bonus content accessible through special QR codes—including video messages from Kunal, exclusive photos, and behind-the-scenes interviews. This book is more than a memoir; it's an immersive experience that helps readers rediscover life's essence and find their path.

In a strange twist of kismet, Remica Bingham-Risher's paternal great-great-great grandmother, Minnie Lee Fowlkes, is interviewed for the Works Progress Administration Slave Narratives in Petersburg, Virginia in 1937, and her maternal grandmother, Mary Knight, is sent to Petersburg in 1941, diagnosed with "water on the brain"—postpartum depression being an ongoing mystery—nine days after birthing her first child. Braiding meticulous archival research with Womanist scholarship and her hallmark lyrical precision, Bingham-Risher's latest collection of poems treads the murky waters of race, lineage, faith, mental health, women's rights, and the violent reckoning that inhabits the discrepancy between lived versus textbook history, asking: What do we inherit when trauma is at the core of our fractured living? Utilizing primary and secondary sources, Bingham-Risher weaves together a richly textured vision of her foremothers' everyday and exceptional living: two very different women at opposite ends of their lives, converging upon the same space and time. The lives these women inhabit and generations they fostered add infinite layers to the fabric of the American tapestry. Room Swept Home serves as a gloriously rendered portrait of all that is held in the line between the private and public, the investigative and generative, the self and those who came before us.

End of Innocence is the first in a non-fiction series ('Truly Unforgotten') exploring UK cold cases.
The book focuses on the 1978 disappearance of Genette Tate. The 13-year-old schoolgirl vanished while out delivering newspapers on her bicycle in the Exeter countryside; no trace of her was ever discovered.
With new and rarely seen comments from family, police and inside the courtroom, the story links her case to the earlier abductions of April Fabb (also 13), Christine Markham (9) and Mary Boyle (6). None of these unsolved cases was assumed to be linked until 1990, when a man was apprehended having just kidnapped a six-year-old girl. That man was Robert Black, a notorious murderer about whom relatively little has been written.
The majority of Black’s victims were working-class girls, whose parents lacked the resources to mount private investigations. Genette’s disappearance was by far the most publicised, and the book uses dramatic, fictionalised descriptions based on facts and interviews to compare her case with the others. The book also spotlights the vast difference in police work/co-operation and note-sharing in the 60s and 70s.
When Black was eventually caught, he was charged with four murders and sentenced to life, though the true number of his victims was very likely far higher. Police were preparing to charge Black with Genette Tate’s abduction and murder when he died in prison in 2016.
