In Ray Kurzweil's New York Times bestseller The Singularity is Near, the futurist and entrepreneur describes the Singularity, a likely future utterly different than anything we can imagine. The Singularity is triggered by the tremendous growth of human and computing intelligence that is an almost inevitable outcome of Moore's Law. Since the book's publication, the coming of the Singularity is now eagerly anticipated by many of the leading thinkers in Silicon Valley, from PayPal mastermind Peter Thiel to Google co-founder Larry Page. The formation of the Singularity University, and the huge popularity of the Singularity website kurzweilai.com, speak to the importance of this intellectual movement.
But what about the average person? How will the Singularity affect our daily lives—our jobs, our families, and our wealth?
Singularity Rising: Surviving and Thriving in a Smarter, Richer, and More Dangerous World focuses on the implications of a future society faced with an abundance of human and artificial intelligence. James D. Miller, an economics professor and popular speaker on the Singularity, reveals how natural selection has been increasing human intelligence over the past few thousand years and speculates on how intelligence enhancements will shape civilization over the next forty years.
Miller considers several possible scenarios in this coming singularity: A merger of man and machine making society fantastically wealthy and nearly immortal Competition with billions of cheap AIs drive human wages to almost nothing while making investors rich Businesses rethink investment decisions to take into account an expected future period of intense creative destruction Inequality drops worldwide as technologies mitigate the cognitive cost of living in impoverished environments Drugs designed to fight Alzheimer's disease and keep soldiers alert on battlefields have the fortunate side effect of increasing all of their users' IQs, which, in turn, adds a percentage points to worldwide economic growth
Singularity Rising offers predictions about the economic implications for a future of widely expanding intelligence and practical career and investment advice on flourishing on the way to the Singularity.

From the author of Abbey Road and Never a Dull Moment, the basis for AppleTV's 1971 documentary, come the stories of how rock icons like Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, and more have survived, thrived, and remained the most powerful forces in music.

When Paul McCartney closed Live Aid in July of 1985, we thought he was rock's Grand Old Man. He was forty-three years old. As the forty years since have shown, he—and many others of his generation—were just getting started.

This was the time when live performance took over from records. The big names of the '60s and '70s exploited the Age of Spectacle that Live Aid had ushered in to enjoy the longest lap of honor in the history of humanity, continuing to go strong long after everyone else in the business had retired.

This is a story without precedent, a story in which Elton John plays a royal funeral, Mick Jagger gets a knighthood, Bob Dylan picks up a Nobel Prize, The Beatles become, if anything, bigger than The Beatles, and it's beginning to look as though all of the above will, thanks in a large part to technology, be playing in Las Vegas forever.

    The Songwriting Magic Formula
    The shortcut to melody creation
The songwriting tips and tricks no one ever told you about.
Instantly compose HIT vocal melodies with the backing chords at the same time.
This audio book dispels the myths of songwriting and destroys the negatives that hold songwriters back
and ends songwriters block in melody.
    Short extract from book
Let’s get rid of a few myths. There’s no set way to create a melody.
This is True and at the same time Not true. But only in the minds of those people that know everything ?
Pupil says to mentor, “I know you’re going to teach me how to write better songs, but how do I come up with the actual melody?”
The mentor turns to the pupil and says. “Well, that’s the million dollar question. I wish I could just say, ‘sit there with your guitar do this, and out will pop a melody’. But unfortunately, there’s no such thing as a magic formula”.
This isn’t true. Let’s blow the other myth out of the water. The one where they say composing cannot be taught. Well, I’ve just learned you how to create 2 HIT vocal melodies in examples 1 and 2 another vocal melody in less than 15 seconds in example three and 2 more in the challenge. Usually it only takes a few seconds to hear the new melody being born. Now you can teach your friends and family how to compose a melody in less than 10 minutes. Even if they’ve never composed a melody before.
And not just any melodies but catchy hit melodies.
