  As with most art, the words in this book were inspired by love. 
  Inspired by women I have loved and one in particular, who I may have loved before. 
  The woman who inspired many of these words is one of the very few truly spiritual people I’ve ever known. In spite of a life often tormented by cruelty and neglect, she retained a rare spirituality and compassion. 
  She enriched my life and for that I will never forget her. 
  These are some of the poems. 
  Written over the past couple of years (something creative came out of the COVID lockdown). Some describe experiences and feelings directly related to my relationships and circumstances. Some figments of my imagination. 
  This book is divided into three sections: 
  Life, Love, and Loss 
  You can start reading from the beginning through to the end, or you can pick a section depending on your mood, or dip in and out at random.

  Annabel Lee is the last complete poem by Edgar Allan Poe. Like many of Poe's poems, it explores the theme of the death of a beautiful woman. 
  The narrator, who fell in love with Annabel Lee when they were young, has a love for her so strong that even angels are jealous. He retains his love for her even after her death. 
  There has been debate over who - if anyone - was the inspiration for Annabel Lee. Though many women have been suggested, Poe's wife Virginia Eliza Clemm Poe is one of the more credible candidates.

  John Anthony Ciardi (June 24, 1916 - March 30, 1986) was an American poet, translator, and etymologist. While primarily known as a poet, Ciardi pursued etymology, contributed to the Saturday Review as a columnist and long-time poetry editor, directed the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference in Vermont, and recorded commentaries for National Public Radio. In 1959, Ciardi published a book on how to read, write, and teach poetry, How Does a Poem Mean?, which has proven to be among the most-used books of its kind. In the following recordings, Ciardi reads "And They Lived Happily Ever After For Awhile," “To Judith, I,” “Happiness,” and “The Lamb.”
