Sinopsis

I made, in 2014, the General Concordances (or Biblical Keys) of the King James Bible. Now is the time to arrange for their publication. I cannot say, at the time of publishing these introductory notes, whether the work will be published in its complete form and what solutions will be adopted. But these concordances of the word "God" constitute a first orientation towards the realization of the project. The word "Jesus" occurs 983 times in the original text of the King James Translation, but the possible interpretations of this numerical data are numerous and extremely complex. I leave this short work to my scrupulous readers. These concordances were created using the DBT 2.0 software, created by Eugenio Picchi and Pasquale Stoppelli for the Institute of Computational Linguistics of the CNR in Pisa. And I have nothing to add, at the moment. Valerio Di Stefano March, 2025

The Man Who Was Pale by Jack Sharkey first appeared in Fantastic Science Fiction Stories in December 1959. It begins quietly, on a moonlit night as a man recounts the strange visions that have haunted him since childhood—visions of another life he seems to live only in dreams. As his story unfolds, reality and illusion blur, creating a chilling sense that his dream-self might be more real than the waking world. Sharkey builds his unease gradually, through atmosphere and introspection rather than violence, exploring themes of duality, memory, and the thin veil separating worlds. The result is a story that lingers in the imagination long after it ends, more ghostly than gruesome, and deeply human beneath its mystery.
Jack Sharkey (1931–1992) was an American writer known for his wit, imagination, and versatility across science fiction, fantasy, and mystery. A frequent contributor to Fantastic, If, and Galaxy magazines, Sharkey’s stories often combined humor with a sly sense of irony. He was equally at home writing eerie speculative tales or lighthearted satire, bringing intelligence and empathy to both. Beyond short fiction, he wrote plays, mystery novels, and even stage adaptations, earning a devoted following for his deft storytelling and inventive twists.
Like many pulp-era authors, Sharkey captured the restless spirit of mid-century speculative fiction—a time when imagination pushed against the limits of reality. The Man Who Was Pale exemplifies his gift for weaving unease and wonder together, inviting readers to question not just what is real, but who they truly are when the lights go out.

Rise Up Virtues devotional for kids explores inspiring bible passages, demonstrating to preteens how god's wisdom can help and support them as they grow. In over 250 pages of Christian books for both boys and girls, each chapter addresses one of fifteen virtues, all inspired by Saint Thomas Aquinas’ writings on virtues in his influential work, Summa Theologiae. For the first time, this collection of over a dozen writers provides an in-depth, age-appropriate view of virtues steeped in the Catholic tradition for children ages 8 to 12. The chapter, written in a seven-day format, begins with an introduction by Susanna Spencer, our Theological Editor who holds a Masters in Theology from the University of Steubenville. She also shares her thoughts on a Scripture passage that exemplifies that virtue. For the next five days, one of our Blessed is She writers offers daily spirited reflections, spanning a moment in history class as Benjamin Franklin to being dubbed the superhero “Prudence” to performing a judo throw on her instructor. Those five days begin with scripture or a Saint quote, brief enough to memorize or pray and end in a short prayer authored by our Managing Editor, Nell O’Leary. Susanna wraps up the week with a thought-provoking and encouraging conclusion and prayer.
Give these religious books to boys and girls to help them learn scripture and the wisdom of the saints, as well as to help them grow in virtue.
