  Naval combat underwent a significant metamorphosis during World War II. Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan launched some of the most powerful battleships ever to sail the world's oceans, yet the conflict witnessed the emergence and triumph of the aircraft carrier as the 20th century's true monarch of the seas. Submarine warfare expanded and developed, while aircraft technology and doctrine experienced several revolutionary changes due to the unforgiving demands of the new combat environment.

  Indeed, the “ultimate weapon” of World War II proved to be not a powerful tank or a specific type of aircraft, but a gigantic piece of military hardware combining the newly augmented power of both air and naval operations, the aircraft carrier. Every diverse element of the military machine had a crucial role to play, but the aircraft carrier stood head and shoulders above any other single system as the key to victory in the mid 1940s.

However, the emergence of Mentuhotep II, a ruler from Thebes, marked a turning point. Determined to restore order, he led a series of military campaigns to reunite Upper and Lower Egypt. His victory over the Herakleopolitan kings signified the dawn of a new era. 
  Reunification under Mentuhotep II not only consolidated political power but also reestablished the role of the pharaoh as a central figure of authority. As the unifier of Egypt, Mentuhotep II portrayed himself as the restorer of ma'at—harmony and justice. His reign marked the beginning of the 11th Dynasty and set a precedent for strong, centralized rule. The restoration of internal stability allowed for significant cultural and artistic developments, reflecting a renewed sense of national identity.

  The Ancient Underground Wall in...

  The underground rock wall in Rockwall, Texas has fascinated me for years.  
  I’ve read everything I could online about it. Recently I moved from Los Angeles to Denton, Texas which is only about an hour drive from Rockwall. So I went there and spent an hour with the Rockwall County Museum Curator and learned a lot more about the structure. 
  Was also able to examine and take pictures of the wall section moved from the actual wall and reconstructed outside the museum. 
  In this book I’ve related the history of the wall’s discovery, excavations, interesting items and structures found on or near the wall, and information about possible giants who might have built it. 
  There are a lot of unanswered questions about this structure which still need to be learned. Those questions are listed near the end of this book.
