The Christian church confesses "one baptism." But the church's answers to how, whom and when to baptize, and even what it means or does, are famously varied.
This Spectrum Multiview volume provides a forum for thoughtful proponents of three principal evangelical views to state their case, respond to the others, and then provide a summary response and statement. Sinclair Ferguson sets out the case for infant baptism, Bruce Ware presents the case for believers' baptism, and Anthony Lane argues for a mixed practice.
As with any good conversation on a controversial topic, this book raises critical issues, challenges preconceptions and discloses the soft points in each view. Evangelicals who wish to understand better their own church's practice or that of their neighbor, or who perhaps are uncertain of their own views, will value this incisive book.
Spectrum Multiview Books offer a range of viewpoints on contested topics within Christianity, giving contributors the opportunity to present their position and also respond to others in this dynamic publishing format.

The call for liberty creates a divide between family and country, desire and duty, love and loyalty.

In 1777, caught in the crossroads of the American Revolution, sisters Maebel and Coralie Bohannon's quaint New Jersey village becomes a battleground as they house American officers. Rebellion ripples through their family as members take opposing sides--Patriots and Loyalists--causing a deep chasm that fractures their once-unbreakable bond.

As Mae's friendship grows with the American general Rhys Harlow, Coralie continues her liaison with her childhood sweetheart, a British officer stationed in New York. Mae, torn between her deepening love for the general and suspicion that her sister is a British spy, leaves the only home she's ever known for the New York frontier. When betrayal strikes in the heart of the wilderness, she's forced to take a perilous journey that tests her very survival and those she loves, all in the name of liberty.

On the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Laura Frantz offers a stirring friends-to-lovers historical romance of divided loyalties, patriotism, sacrifice, sisterhood, and love set during the American Revolution.

Trust in God - The Divine...

Trust is the cornerstone of every meaningful relationship, and our relationship with God is no exception. Before we can fully rely on God's plan and timing, we must first understand what it means to trust Him. This foundational trust is not built overnight—it grows as we come to know who God is, how He works, and what His promises truly mean. Trust begins with acknowledging God's character: He is good, faithful, loving, and sovereign. These are not just comforting words—they are unshakable truths that anchor us in the storms of life. When we truly know the nature of God, it becomes easier to let go of anxiety and surrender our own need for control.
One of the greatest barriers to trust is fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear that things won't go the way we want them to. Fear whispers lies that God might forget us, overlook us, or leave us alone in our struggles. But the truth is, God never abandons His children. He is near to the brokenhearted, attentive to our prayers, and actively working behind the scenes even when we can’t see it. Trust calls us to silence fear with faith. It doesn’t mean we’ll never feel afraid, but it does mean choosing to believe that God is bigger than anything we face.
Another crucial element of trust is surrender. Surrender means letting go of our timelines, our need for immediate answers, and even our understanding of how things should unfold. It’s an act of humility—a decision to say, “God, I don’t know what You’re doing, but I believe You do.” This kind of trust doesn’t come from blind optimism; it comes from deeply knowing who God is and recognizing that His ways are higher than ours. Surrendering control is difficult, but it is also liberating. It allows us to rest in the truth that we don’t have to carry the burden of figuring everything out.

    Read by the author.
We often try to do a lot for God--without him. Relaxed is a call to let go of spiritual performance, reject our cultural tendency to live under pressure, and find freedom to walk with God and toward God, one gentle step at a time.
Jesus was never in a hurry to be anywhere other than where he was, trusting and obeying his Father. Could the same be said of us? We long to know peace, purpose, and contentment, but life's stresses, the world's discouragements, and our own striving for growth get in the way.
In Relaxed, pastor and teacher Megan Fate Marshman explores what it means to set aside our addiction to trying to figure everything out and relish a slower, compelling, powerful, and relaxed life with God. As Megan takes us word by word through Proverbs 3:5-6, she helps us discover:The joy of a continual, intimate relationship with GodWhat God calls us to do with the burden of shame and guiltWhat it looks like to be relaxed in the midst of grief, financial stress, mistakes, and fatigueThe freedom and forgiveness of being found "in Christ"How to incorporate rhythms of walking with God into our everyday routines

God never intended for us to be in control. As we lean away from our own understanding and into an intentionally relaxed spiritual life, we join Jesus in trusting a God who knows what he is doing--and isn't worried about a thing.
