Sinopsis

The future should be bright for Deborah Vandermark, who is now pursuing her interest in medicine alongside Dr. Christopher Clayton, who is courting her. But the lumber town is resistant to the idea of a woman physician, and she feels thwarted at every turn. A more devastating blow occurs, however, when Christopher breaks off their relationship to return home to his troubled family.

Despite her own love life going awry, Deborah is still intent to be a matchmaker for both her widowed mother and her brother, who has caught the eye of the spit-fire daughter of the local pastor. But what will Deborah do when faced with the truth about Christopher's family? Is there hope for the two of them...or will Jake Wyeth's attentions finally catch Deborah's eye instead?

From Birth to Resurrection in the Gospel of Luke

Jesus came to lift up the lowly. Throughout his ministry to his final days on the road to the cross, we find stories of his relationships with ordinary, flawed, and unexpected people. He met, dined, and traveled with people who were not perfect. Many of them were struggling, some were outsiders or even outlaws. Whoever they were, from those he healed to the outlaws with him at his crucifixion, Jesus brought the good news of God's kingdom to those who most needed to hear it.

In Luke: Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts, and Outlaws, pastor and bestselling author Adam Hamilton explores the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus as told in the Gospel of Luke. Through Luke's stories we find Jesus' care and compassion for all as he welcomes sinners and outcasts. As we study Luke and see Jesus' concern for those who were considered unimportant, we hear a hopeful and inspiring word for our lives today.

This accessibly written textbook has been a popular introduction to the Pentateuch for over twenty-five years. It identifies the major themes of the first five books of the Bible and offers an overview of their contents. Unlike some academic studies, it focuses on how the books from Genesis to Deuteronomy form a continuous story that provides an important foundation for understanding the whole Bible. This new edition has been substantially updated throughout to reflect the author's refined judgments and to address the future of pentateuchal studies.

    Gospel of the Trinity -...

John’s Gospel is like no other. It has a number of unique features. Its principal question is the identity of Jesus as the Word made flesh, full of grace and truth. It records a growing stand-off and enmity between the Jewish leaders and Jesus, as Jesus provokes their prejudices and challenges their power base.

In this exploration of the Gospel, Patrick Whitworth shows that it is the relationship of Jesus with the Father and the Spirit that makes this Gospel so distinctive and unique. In no other Gospel, is that relationship so carefully explored, explained and demonstrated. And as the Gospel moves to its conclusion through the Upper Room discourses and prayer, the full mystery and panoply of these relationships in the Trinity are made clear as the springboard for the mission of the Church. A thought-provoking reflection on the most profound of all the Gospels.
