Sinopsis

Oxford University students, Syrian national Ali, a devout Muslim and English-borne Atheist Margaret, succumb to a passionate romance. Issues regarding religion and Ali's eventual return to Syria are dismissed as they realise a love live theirs only happens once in a lifetime, if ever. They vow to 'live for today', hoping the parting day never comes.
Through their joint detective work, they discover a connection with Pembroke and beautiful Barafundle Bay, which holds the secrets of Margaret's deceased mother's past. Which leads them to solve the mystery of Margaret's father, which has dogged her since childhood.
Margaret moves to Syria to be with Ali and her newfound father. Their lives are idyllic; they make new friends, and 'live for today' has a different meaning.
Then the Syrian Civil War erupts. Unlike most of their friends that flee from the war, Ali and Margaret decide to stay and help those in need. Margaret volunteers at the hospital and Ali joins the 'White Helmets'.
They witness the horrific destruction of Aleppo and the terrorising of trapped citizens during the indiscriminate bombing by its own government and allies. 'Live For Today' is all they can do.

Before Conan the Barbarian, Robert E. Howard created Kull the Conqueror, revealed later by Howard to be an ancestor of Conan. Kull, like Conan is a vicious and bloodthirsty barbarian but in some ways is a more contemplative and thoughtful character. In these, the first two Kull stories Howard published, we find Kull dealing with a conspiracy to murder him by a race of shapeshifting lizard people in "The Shadow Kingdom" and we see Kull contemplating his place in the world and even his own reality as he becomes ensnared in the wicked plot of a magician in "The Mirrors of Tuzun Thume". Relish in the savagery of a Hyperborean Age of brutality and bloodlust with another tale from the fine folks at Weird Tales magazine!

Having killed off Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle began a new series of tales on a very different theme. Brigadier Gerard is an officer in Napoleon's army—ecklessly brave, engagingly openhearted, and unshakable, if not a little absurd, in his devotion to the enigmatic Emperor. The Brigadier's wonderful comic adventures, long established in the affections of Conan Doyle's admirers as second only to those of the incomparable Holmes, are sure to find new devotees among the ardent fans of such writers as Patrick O'Brian and George MacDonald Fraser.
