Sinopse
Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850-1937) was a Czechoslovak statesman, progressive political activist and philosopher who served as the first President of Czechoslovakia from 1918 to 1935. He is regarded as the founding father of Czechoslovakia. The Masaryk’s article A Philosophy of Pacifism, which we propose to our readers today, was published in 1917 in The New Europe (volume II, no. 24). It is a brilliant and far-sighted political and sociological analysis of the international situation at the time of the First World War, and at the same time a reasoned critique of Bertrand Russell's essay Principles of Social Reconstruction.
